Lamarr Houston was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated early Sunday morning. He was the driver of a two-car accident that happened at 11th Street and I-35 at about
3:15 a.m. Houston posted $3,000 bond Sunday afternoon and was released from Travis County Jail. No one was injured. A DWI offense is a Class B misdemeanor that is punishable up to 180 days in jail.
Coach Mack Brown (also known as
Mack the Warden) issued the following statement in his best
Mr. Haney voice:
“We’re aware of Lamarr’s situation and are disappointed anytime one of our players is accused of wrongdoing. We take a strong stance against drinking and driving and will thoroughly investigate this situation. Following the completion of the legal process, we will do what’s best for the university, Lamarr and the team. One thing we have really prided ourselves on in our program is our family atmosphere, and this will be handled within our family.”
