Perseverance is a great element of success. If you only knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake somebody. ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
The offense so far today...ugh. Threet is shakey. Why are they running him so much?
The crowd is an embarassement. Is that the student section they're showing? How can they be out of the game so early? They're just standing there with their arms folded. Look, I know it's never been a great environment, but we were NEVER that bad in my four years.
This just in... Fumbled my 5th beer. I'm still ahead of the Wolverines as that was my first turnover of the day. This reminds me why I don't coach because if I was coaching a team like this every other word would be an obscenity and I would have broken much lockerroom equipment. They are scarily bad and my optimism has now change to a 3 win season if that.
p.s. apparently ND was that bad that they made us look good all things considered. So there is that.
God damn beautiful. One of the most enjoyable games I've watched in a while. I was willing to give it all up after the first half but that's why we play 4 quarters. I hope RichRod will learn something and move to a more passing offense like the second half because that's what fits the guys they have now.
As I am smack dab in the middle of the student section, I can tell you that it was an interesting day. They were booing and laughing and then when the team would do something, even just a yard, even a LOSS of yards, and didn't fumble, they would cheer (sarcastically) THEN.....the big turn around and it was THE loudest I have heard the crowd, EVER! Pretty awesome feeling to win that game. They nearly shut out the Badgers in the second half, until the end there. Anyone know the stats on second half for us this year? It seems as if that is what we have been doing all year, coming out after the half and keeping the other team from scoring in the second half. GO BLUE!
Incidentally, and not to downplay the win, but I don't think Wisconsin was as good as billed. They should have done MUCH more with those first half turnovers. They could have buried us.
The first half was a complete fiasco. A high school team would have played better. 21 yards of offense??? Are you kidding me???
I have no idea how we won. Big props to the Defense.
And the fans were pathetic: booing as the team goes off for the half and then chanting 'over-rated' at Wisco when we conjure up enough O for a win?? fickle fickle fickle
I couldn't figure out if the first half debacle was due to coaching or crappy play. thoughts???
oh yeah---and Wisco lost because they played Big Ten-Lloyd Ball
On the Threet run, anybody catch him putting bearhug/deathgrip on that ball at the end of his long run? I laughed out loud when I saw it on the replay just now.
I have to agree with Catie...The Big House has not been that FREAKING LOUD since the 1997 game against tUOS! yes even the fans in Section 16 were fickle for the first 3 quarters...T9, I will be emailing you a pic I took of the scoreboard...the game was unreal...
I will say one thing for the coaching. I was really getting worried that we had hired one stubborn ass SOB of a coach. He seems hell bent on running "his" offense even though clearly the kids at his disposal are incapable of running it. In the second half they switched and played more of an offense like MI ran against Florida. Total shotgun spread passing offense and Threet thrived. They need to stick more to that over the rest of the year and cut this little chink option shit out. Also they need to just hold onto the ball.

GOOD MORNING!!!!!
I awake to face the day optimistic and enthusiastic regarding Michigan's chances today.
Don't expect to win, but think that we can.
Off to tailgate soon.
Enjoy the game peeps! Andy---get your thumbs ready as crazy texting will ensue.
Wish I was there. Give a good cheer for Phelps. Love seeing him in his Michigan attire almost everywhere he's televised.
Go Blue!
Beer #1
Almost time to go badger hunting!!! Feeling cautiously optimistic about our chances today. Enjoy the game everyone.
Go Blue!!!
Two things...
The offense so far today...ugh. Threet is shakey. Why are they running him so much?

...oh, and did you catch that stat they flashed? 40% of our plays this year for 0 yards or fewer. Gruesome.
60% of the time it works every time jim

That was actually really funny, sru.
P.S. GREAT WIN!
I'm not going to say we're "back," but it was nice to feel like Michigan again. There were moments in the first half when...
THREET FOR HEISMAN!
I know. A little over the top.
But after taking the young man's name in vain for 3/4ths of the game, I felt I owed him a few props.

Baxter would be proud.

A tale of two halves today.

seriously===you have got to go to mgoblog.
Brian posted the Muppets performing Temptation and Hawaiian War Chant.
Brilliant.
Two more thoughts...
PSU fans are showing the Big Ten how it's done.
On the Threet run, anybody catch him putting bearhug/deathgrip on that ball at the end of his long run? I laughed out loud when I saw it on the replay just now.
Congratulations.
thanks whetstone
it's gonna be lllllooooong season
Wow !!! We still are not any good, but I had a feeling.
I listened to the game on the satellite radio as I drove home from the Texas A&M vs. Army game.
We went from being a "yard a minute team" to a "point a minute team" in a blink of the eye.
Sure is nice to see barwis-ed kids take over the 4th quarter.
I am still in shock. Great win for the program.
I have to agree with Catie...The Big House has not been that FREAKING LOUD since the 1997 game against tUOS! yes even the fans in Section 16 were fickle for the first 3 quarters...T9, I will be emailing you a pic I took of the scoreboard...the game was unreal...
The question is how would've Bob Ufer called this game.
(THANK YOU BO SCHEMBECHLER FOR THAT ONE!!!)
Just Amazing win by the boyz in Maize and Blue!
Strength and Conditioning showed in the 4th quarter.
Crowd better show their appreciation next week at homecoming (I'll be there screaming my vocal chords into submission)!
GO BLUE!

Everybody recovering today or what?
For what it's worth Braylon Edwards finally caught a pass and a TD. Yay Fantasy football points.
