Hater.

10 Most Obnoxious College Fan Bases, according to the fair and balanced Lisa Horne at FOXSports.....

10. Florida--because they live in the past and never shut up
9. Florida State--tomahawk chant and daisy dukes
8. Alabama--0-6 in the Iron Bowl against Auburn but still think they are all that
7. Ohio State--dotting the 'I' and "They use regular-season success to pronounce their team the greatest ever, then scatter like rats when their heroes get spanked in a title game."
6. Clemson--SEC wannabes???
5. USC-- conquest or whatever the hell this is called
4. Oklahoma--Bob Stoops
3. LSU--"Do their fans really think that changing the English language will make them better than everyone else? Geaux figure"
2. Michigan--" What can you say about a fan base that thinks a loss should be rewarded? Never mind their incessant complaining after dropping (gasp!) in the rankings after losing to No. 1 Ohio State in 2006, they actually think the rest of the country cares about their rivalry with the Buckeyes. Maybe if the game actually determined a legit BCS title contender, we would. But without a doubt, Michigan fans are the whiniest fans in college football. - Lisa Horne"
1. NOTRE DAME --"The Irish rest on their laurels and think they deserve to bless us every Saturday on NBC. The 1940s have been over for a long time, folks. Notre Dame has been irrelevant for more than a decade, yet their myopic fans see light behind a 3-9 year. Call them out as a bad team and their fans bleat, "But you're still talking about us," in Stepford synchronicity. Obnoxiousness, thy home is South Bend"

Given her comments about Michigan I really think that she should have simply put "see number 7" since her reason for hating revolves soley on the ineptitude of tUOS.

hmmm

here's an article from said "writer"

http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/8403138/College-football's-best-rivalries

She lists college's best 10 rivalries - she doesn't state that they are in order, but if you look at how they are listed, it's no doubt she did it from 10 to 1 with osu-um being #1.

i'd be surprised, except it's Fox

"Michigan vs. Ohio State

When two teams share 10 Heismans and 18 national championships, there's bound to be bad blood between them. It has spawned classics such as "The Snow Bowl" and escalated into a "Ten-Year War." While these two teams' fans claim to hate each other, their ultimate respect for the rivalry is unmatched"

So if nobody cares about said rivalry how come every sportswriter under the sun is writing about it? And everytime there is a greatest college rivalries page it is mentioned.

What a moron.

After reading this I too went on the hunt to find out where she attended school. I could have swore that these were the words of a true PSU or Little brother alum. All I did find though is that apparently Lisa is so irrelevant she doesn't even have a wikipedia page. And they have wikipedia pages for video game characters. Congrats on your meaningless life miss.

Wow. I am pretty sure that I could ask my son's 15 year old best friend (he wants to be a journalist someday too) to come up with a more interesting article about the top college football fan bases.

Reading Lisa's blog makes me want to quit watching college football and start watching the food network full time.

FOX had an 'unbiased' ranking about NFL fans as well written by an Eagles fan. Three guesses who the best fans in the NFL are. In typical Eagle hating fashion all teams' fans until number two were unbearably annoying and the Raiders' fans (#2) were 'the only fans us Eagles fans can respect.' How could you publish trash like that where the author actually admits his biased loyalties in the article?!

These polls are an insult to journalism and an editor should be reprimanded for allowing such trash to be viewed by the public there by disgracing the 'credited' sports news publishers at that company. These two polls are just a bunch of spiteful banter... it's like publishing Bin Laden as a credited member of the press for his ethical and unbiased journalism.

ESPN had a poll for NFL fans that actually seemed to make sense. Because let's be honest, you can understand how Packers and Steelers fans should be 1 and 2 with their loyalty, travel, and fervor... and those aren't my teams!

As for college, the Buckeye fans deserved to be higher on that list for prominence in number there by putting under the microscope, numerous acts of arson and vandalism, and for the fact that the president of the university has on numerous occasions had to write letters of apology for the treatment of visiting fans. There aren't many places in the college game where you can actually fear for your own safety, rather than just having to suffer through incessant trash talk and verbal abuse, and suffer damage to personal property like a car. More SEC schools could make that list for their ability to trash the field and throw debris at opposing players (UG at Alabama last year).

As for USC fans, no other program has such an embarrassing turnout for 'College Game Day'. Their crowds look like an Olson Twins fan appreciation day in Libya. No other school with such an opportunity would embarrass their school like they do. The majority of their fans tend to be bandwagon, how else do you describe a school that can have more than 40,000 missing for a conference game? You can tell that 'Game Day' hates going there as they seem very unenthused during their coverage and even encourage more on air to turn out. I will also throw Miami and UCLA (somewhat) into that same broad category. Something about warm cities on the beach and not taking college football as seriously and passionately as everywhere else in the country. L.A. can't even keep an NFL team.

What can I say, it's the truth.

Rutgers should be on the list after cheering after a Navy player got injured.
