NFL Week One

OK, who had Jason Avant (3 catches for 45 yards) making a bigger week one impact...

Than Tom Brady (7-11, 76 yards) ??

Seriously, Brady out for the season changes the entire landscape of the NFL this season.

I now feel better about drafting Peterson over Tom Brady. Sucks for him but injuries do happen. I think it's funny though that NE as a team had based so much on him that they have a totally unproven no name backup as QB now. Perhaps Daunte Culpepper comes out of retirement early.

I was late for my fantasy draft last week, and the autopick grabbed me Joseph Addai in the first round. Had I been there I would have taken Brady for sure. Phew.

Sad to see Brady get hurt. Good to see Avant have a good game. Did you see that Hart got his first NFL carry late in the game last night?

MGoBlue dot com shows 52 former Wolverines as being active in the NFL. No slight to Jeff Backus and Ron Bellemy, but I am not sure that I would count the Detroit Lions as being in the NFL, especially after the game yesterday. Never have been much of a Lion fan.

P.S. You guys are doing a great job with Spawn. We all miss Yost, but you have kept it going and are improving each day. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Bob. We are trying.

Is it just me or is the countdown to the ND game off?

It wasn't just you. Thanks for the heads up.

I live in the central time zone entered 2:30 -- rather than 14:30 in the html code.

Funny world. Drew Bledsoe was a pretty good QB when got hurt & evenutally replaced by Brady, laaate round draft pick/back up.that's about the time Belichek became a genius, too.

It'll be interesting to see how much of a genius Bill is w/ Cassels (or if Tom ends up w/ someone else the way Bledsoe did)?

fyi - woodley had a monster day in his 1st start ever with the steelers. He was also a barwis disciple this summer.

btw, i must concur with the others. it isn't yost, but its certainly the next best thing. great job!
