Week 3 of the NFL season is complete. Somehow I went 2-0 in my two fantasy leagues, that has not happened in a very long time. Just last week my friends were joking that I am the 1976 Bucs of Fanstasy football. What happened around the league with former Michigan players ?1) Brian Griese threw the ball 67 times and had 407 yards passing as the Tampa Bay Bucs beat the Bears in overtime. In his 14 year Hall of Fame career, Brian's Dad never threw for 400 yards in a game.
2) Amani Toomer had 5 catches against the Bengals, including a nice sideline grab in overtime. The NFL Champion Giants won and remain undefeated. The NFC East is stacked. The worst team in that division would win the others.
3) It looks like Brady Quinn may see the field sooner rather than later. Braylon Edwards and the Cleveland Browns continue to disappoint. Edwards had only 3 catches and the Browns lost in Baltimore. On sunday night I was wearing a Michigan T-Shirt and was heckled in Baltimore by tOSU fans wearing #17 Browns jerseys at the ESPN Zone near the stadium.
4) Bengals LB Dhani Jones followed up his 10 tackle performance last week with 12 tackles against the Giants. He leads the team in total tackles for the season.
5) Bengals RB Chris Perry scored his second career touchdown with a 25 yard run.
6) Lamar Woodley & Larry Foote each had a sack for the Steelers, but they lost to the Eagles.
7) Chad Henne got to play a little in the 4th quarter -- and the Dolphins crushed the Brady-less Pats.
7) The upcoming bye week is a blessing as it can't get much worse for the 0-3 Lions. How Matt Millen looks at himself in the mirror I have no idea ? Bill Ford Jr. says he would fire him. Pathetic.

I am now 1-2 in my fantasy league thanks to way underachieving performers. My team included Braylon Edwards, Derek Anderson, and Adrian Peterson this week. I started none of the three and still lost. I bought into the hyp and figured Matt Cassel against the fish would be the game he would show what he's made of. He did and I lost. Had I started Jet Favre even with his intereceptions I would have squeaked out an exact tie this week. Oh well live and learn. Every week I am cutting and adding players and can't find a mix of players that perform each week. My highest scoring team member of the year was last weeks Philly defense. Ugh
I have officially given up on the Lions. If the Lions players are going to give up, than so am I.
Go Giants!
You could start cheering for the Browns (Clowns). Cheering/booing is the same in Cleveland.
Nope....the Browns are in Ohio. There is only one good thing about Ohio and that's near Dayton. The same will be said about the Bengals.
What's near Dayton? Only thing I know of us the Air Force museum which is really rather rad.
Happy day for you MI people no more Matt Millen.
Yes, the Air Force Museum....
Maybe Cedar Point.
You know they have a sweet thing offered at the Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run airport right outside of A2. You get a flight on their C-47 (Gooney Bird) to the Air Force museum and then back. Hell of a trip to take for the flight experience alone. We have been wanting to do it for some time and just not taken the first step. I personally have flown on the Yankee Lady their B-17 and it was an amazing experience. Definitely recommend it since you don't know how much longer something like that will be available.
I've jumped out of a C-47, and "experiance" is the best way to describes it. Words I wouldn't use to describe a C-47 flight: "comfortable, smooth, quiet".
Cool jump, though. You have to duck your head exiting the troop door, and the tail narrowly misses your head as you go by.
or, experience, if you prefer proper spelling.
Hmmm...I might have to check out the C-47 thing. I never heard about that. I have been tempted to do the B-17 a number of times but that price tag seems to be a deterrant.
Yes it's expensive but the historical aspect of it is just amazing in itself. It was one of those things on my list of things to do before I died so I jumped at it. My mom's dad was a waste gunner on a B-17 who completed their entire tour of 50 missions only to be stricken down with cancer in his early 50s. I never knew him so I thought it would be one way I could at least be with him once.
On a plus note, since I live pretty close to Willow Run, I get to see the B-17 on occasion. I love the rumble of the engines. I know what's outside when I hear that....
