ESPN LinkTUOS coach Jim Tressel says it's doubtful that starting tailback Chris "Beanie" Wells will play Saturday night against top-ranked USC.
"We were hoping he'd wake up this morning and feel even better than yesterday, but that didn't happen, He had more soreness this morning than we'd hoped for."
"I'm listing him as doubtful."
I still think he plays.
It won't matter.
Edit: Adding T9's thoughts previously viewed in the comments section. Once again, she proves she is smarter than me, but she still sucks at photoshop.
Lisfranc injury
Sports Science Thursday: Lisfranc joint complex injury can occur as a result of direct or indirect trauma. Direct trauma occurs when an external force strikes the foot. With indirect trauma, force is transmitted to the stationary foot so that the weight of the body becomes a deforming force by torque, rotation or compression.
Basically he came down on his foot funny somehow and separated/tore/tweaked his forefoot, just like a horseman in Napolean's army whose foot got stuck in the stirrup after he fell off of his horse. Dr. Lisfranc (1790-1847) recognized the injury to the metatarsal ligaments, hence, he gets the name. Read the article, it's pretty complicated but even this girl could understand it. And I bet that Beenie is not playing any time soon....Again, I have NO formal knowledge and my comments are based on the pure GUESSING of my friends...but there isn't much else you can do to your foot where all of a sudden you can't bear weight and you grab at your arch/instep.

How the hell did he hurt himself anyway? He took a handoff and then just went down. Wasn't stepped on or anything. His new nickname should be Chris "Glass Toe" Wells. Yes they get slaughtered. Afterwards they fall below 15th. If I were voting.
Ask and receive :) Sweater I think is realizing his time at O$U may be slowly coming to an end. A couple more losses to big time out of conference schools and they may start searching elsewhere. A coach can't stay forever at one team unless his name is Paterno. I definitely think Wells will play a few snaps but more as a deterrence to a quick passing scheme or something. I don't think his running the ball will be any kind of a factor in the outcome. Hope O$U's secondary is ready for a workout.
WV:: hogaet -- Maybe Wells hurt his toe because his "hog aet" it.
You must be starting to slam those pre-game beers early Hammm. The vest is not going anywhere.
He does what is #1 on their list... beat Michigan.
Rest assured he will be around to haunt us for at least another 10 years.
Don't be so sure Andy. I have no doubt he'll be there the next 3-4 years or so but aside from that things are changing round the Big ten parts and if they continue to get pummeled by big out of conference schools there is only so much they can take. Pus with RR taking over in MI once he gets his people running his scheme properly I can see the balance of power shift back to MI over the Vest and then what will he have left? No wins over big time schools. No more wins over MI, consequently no more Big Ten titles. I'm not saying this will happen next year but in 3 years I think the whole of the Big Ten will look completely different.
Sick of all the damn coverage of this game.
