Democrat or Republican... Torrie or Whig... Phillie or Met.... Lion or Bear... Wolverine or Buckeye... it does not matter, if you live in the United States: TODAY IS YOUR DAY TO BE HEARD. I don't care who you vote for (T9 does, but this is not the place for that) as long as you participate and vote. If you don't know where to vote, check on-line. As I was writing this post, I looked up my local polling place and it is an easier process than finding this blog. I bet there is a polling place near where you live. If the lines are too long, stand your ground and commit to the process. Bring your ipod or a book. If you are really bored, talk to the person you are next to you in line, you may learn something new or make a new friend. I personally am going to wake up very early and get it done before the lines get too long. No matter what - if you are eligible, get out and vote. If you live in Ohio or Florida, today I am truly jealous of you. Your single vote could make the difference in the Presidential election. Don't forfeit that power you have by choosing not to participate.If you need one more push remember this: Your children observe all that you do and will learn from your example, right or wrong. After you vote, wear that "I voted" sticker with pride and teach your kids something important.

also remember not to wear any political gear (t-shirts, hats, etc.) to the polls...if the polling place does not have something to cover up your fave candidate, you will be sent home to put on something else...

It is 7am - the poll is just about ready to open and I am standing in a long line.
My IPOD is fully charged but there is a hot nurse (in colorful scrubs)standing behind me. Decisions, decisions, decisons...
One of the truly cool (if few) things about living in Ohio is that every 4 years WE get to elect the President!
I voted absentee last week.

I know... but to tell the truth, I've got no game left. My skills have been lost after 15+ years of marital bliss.
I'm in California this week so I already voted.
I voted this morning and the line was not too long. I have never missed voting in a national or state election since I have been eligible to vote going back to 1972, although I have missed a few local elections. My youngest son is voting today for the first time and is joining his older brothers who have also voted everytime they have been eligible. I am very proud that I have tought them to take this civic duty seriously and that they have all developed into serious Michigan fans. Go Blue!

Both CNN and NBC just called Ohio for Obama. It is over. He only needs to bring in California, Washington, and Oregon (traditional democrat states) and he is over 270.
Wow. What is historic day.
I voted for McCain but I'm not disappointed that Obama was elected. I am hoping that his post-partisanship is not a construct to get him elected. I hope he will be willing to listen to folks on issues and not go from the gut like the current President. I think this is a momentous occasion in our country at any rate.
I had the pleasure, and honor, to accompany my 19 year old daughter to the polls Tuesday for her first vote ever. We were there at 6:15, stood in line for only about 20 minutes and the rest is history... I hope she will look back on that day, and her participation in it, as one that changed the world!
