Buckeye Bowl Selection Party

Only a couple hours until the BCS Bowl selection show. All indications seem to have the Buckeyes headed to the Fiesta Bowl against Texas. If it happens, I'm actually looking forward to watching that game and rooting for the Big Ten. Congrats to Jim Tressel and his scarlet and gray legions. Please don't hurt yourselves on the dance floor...

Spoiler Alert: Stay until the end, Tressel and Pryor do the splits.

"Little Animal's" ears look much better on this video than in real life!

Seriously go Buckeyes? Once again I will be looking for Texas to slaughter them and enjoy every minute of it. Actually probably not as I probably won't watch the game. Show me where they are more deserving of an at large BCS game over several other schools. Show me how it's not just all about the money. The bowls ruin college football for me every year and this year will be no exception. I also heard of ND possibly playing either Ball State in the Motor City Bowl or Buffalo in the International. Sad.

So what if Oklahoma AND Texas win?
Does that mean Texas completely gets screwed as the voters won't let them leapfrog OK????
stoopid
stoopid
stoopid

Texas is going to smoke tUOS--unfortunately.
I agree with you BAH, this bowl season will leave much to be desired.
oh well.

Alabama sure got screwed as well as Texas Tech. I think Alabama should have been at large against Texas. Ohio State should have played Utah. If not Alabama and Texas, Texas Tech should have at least played Alabama.

I'm anxious to see how Pryor handles himself in a Bowl Game.

It hurts me to say this, but I think the Buckeyes will roll Texas.

Alabama got what they deserved after losing last night.

Boise State got screwed.

well done Andy, well done.

can we expect a preview of our Michigan MAC brethern, WMU and CMU this bowl season?

plenty of MAC grads who are frequently on The Spawn like myself...Catie and BAH as well...

I hope Ohio State will beat Texas, as well as all the other Big Ten teams win, so all the Big 12 and SEC fans can be stifled as they say we're a weak conference. I'm sick of it.

Here's hoping that Texas does what it does best and BBQ's Ohio State. Would love to see the SUCKNUTS humiliated AGAIN in a bowl game. Please o Please let it happen. And let's see TP get his ass sacked liked he's a tackling dummy.

Hopefully our bowl game isn't on at the same time as Michigan's so I can watch both of them!

Best scenario ever-
Penn State rolls USC, Texas rolls Tuos (which will happen as Tuos sucks and Texas is amazing), and Okie barely beats Florida. Three way national title!!!

Ugh looking at the bowl schedule now as there was no way I was watching that last night. Talk about horrible TV. I see that fat Weis get's a vacation to Hawaii. He's so deserving. Hopefully he doesn't go to the beach and get mistaken for a beached whale. Wisconsin "should" handle Florida State as they are terrible. UNC should beat up on WVU. Kansas vs Minnesota - JC Minnesota made a bowl game? That's a head scratcher there. UGA v Michigan State - hahahahahahahahaha. TTU will roll Ole Miss. Texas also will roll O$U. The NC game will be decided by who doesn't win the Heisman. If Bradford wins then FL will win the title and vice versa if Tebow wins again. I think it should be Graham Harrell for TTU honestly.

Central is in the Motor City Bowl. I thought that Buffalo by virtue of winning the championship plays there? Where does Ball State end up?

Anyways....

I think Texas is going to kill OSU because they think they should be playing for the national title. USC vs. PSU should be a good game because both teams will be filled with piss and vinegar since probably each of them think they should be playing for the national title.

Utah should be a good game because being undefeated and getting passed up for 1 loss teams will fill them with piss and vinegar.

The BCS is a sham and at least they have two of the letters right.

So let me get this straight? Boise State is undefeated. Ranked higher in the polls than Ohio State and they are not playing in a BCS bowl?

that's a crock of shit.

"Boise State is undefeated. Ranked higher in the polls than Ohio State and they are not playing in a BCS bowl?"

It's the blue turf. Blue turf rhymes with Blue Smurf. You can't take Boise St. seriously when they play on blue turf. It violates the harmony of the universe.

I still can't believe Oklahomo got the nod over Texas. Computer rankings or not, that's the biggest tragedy in the sorry BCS history to date.

Now, that said, Okie vs. Florida will be a heck of a game: 61 - 62?

Also, Texas coming out fired up because of the injustice...maybe, maybe not. You would think so, but sometimes it works out opposite of conventional wisdom. The Texas coaches will really have to sell the players to keep them from drifting into apathy.

If anything, you would think that tOSU has everything to gain and will come out prepared (positive self-talk).

wv = roloofl
(Some sort of text/chat message there. I really don't want to know.)

I thought that non-BCS schools that finish in the top 12 were supposed to get an automatic bid? Or does that only apply to the highest ranking one?

If you look at the final BCS rankings, Boise State is 9. OSU is 10. By that alone, Boise State should be playing in the Fiesta Bowl. But if you go by the things that really matter....OSU wins (crowds, etc.).

Buffalo was pretty much cemented to the International bowl before the MAC title game. Since Ball State lost, they took the typical tie in for the MAC title loser, a matchup vs the CUSA runner up (Tulsa) in the GMAC bowl . That opened up the Motor City bowl to Central....who will play Florida Atlantic, because with OSU's BCS at large bid, the Big Ten was left with only 5 teams to fill their 6 non BCS bowl slots, and the Motor City is the low man on the totem pole

It's all about money Mikoyan. That's all it is. Boise State would be in that BCS game IF they could generate as much money as O$U can. No one would watch Texas Boise State. Or so they think.

Mikoyan said...

Well, if they are going to set up a system, then they should abide by that system. If that system says that Boise State is better than Ohio State, they should live by that. Although, I shouldn't be too ired at Ohio State since they were 10 which technically means they should be in one of the BCS bowls. So I guess my ire should be directed at Cinci and and Virginia Tech since they were 12 and 19. But I guess I can't be too mad at them since they get an automatic bid.

I realize that the BCS is meant to maximize the revenue of the annointed conferences but still. This is why I don't think we'll see a playoff.
