T9 beat me to the punch on the Lions thread.

The voice of Thom Brennaman (2007 Appy State and 2008 Toldeo) makes my stomach hurt.

The Lions are doomed today.

Colts score on their first drive. 0-7. I may not stay with this game very long. I have too many things to get done.

Jason Hanson breaks NFL record for most 50+ yard field goals in a career.

Hall of Famer.

The only reason to watch this game is to see the other scores scroll by....

who-day! Bengals up by 14

we may win this one...
I'm serious.
Indy will play to the level of their competition and we could just sneak this out....

Kevin Smith looks like a real NFL running back.

Trading touchdowns with field goals is no way to win.

Who should be the #1 overall pick for the Lions ?

The offensive line needs a lot of work.

Lions go for two early in the 4th quarter to tie it up.

Yes !!! they got it.

21-21

WHOOOOO HOOOOOO

and--btw---I LOVE Bill Billick's commentary. He has been factual, positive and provides that 'insider' knowledge that is actually making this game enjoyable to watch!

The Lions should take which ever highest ranked QB comes out of the draft first followed by another RB, a right-sided O-line guy and a fast middle linebacker.
IMHO

So, can the Lions claim a moral victory on this one???

Andy said...

Nope.

An 0-14 team has no moral victories.

moral victory = not getting blown out

who would have thought that we would long for the days of "The Great Lakes Offense" led by Scott Mitchell?

As I've said, I've given up on the Lions....Camera hatin' bastards....

2 more games to 0 and 16......That would be the topper on the Millen era. I thought the guy was a jerk from day one. Kept Moehler hanging on even as he was bringing in other coaches. I think Moehler deserved a shot given that he took a team that had every reason to give up to within a field goal of making the playoffs. I guess the 2-16 records after that are better, huh?

Anyways, giving up on the Lions makes Sundays a hell of alot easier. I can pick whatever game I want to watch (although I will try to catch the Giants when they are on). My TV is happier too as it hasn't had a shoe through it in a while.

So anyways, here's how the Lions will lose the next game. There will be less than a minute left. The Lions are on the Saints 29 Yard Line. 1st down. One of the linemen jump. False start. 1 and 15 on the Saints 34. Next play, pass gets those 5 yards back but don't get out of bounds. Next play, Orlovsky throws into the Endzone. Caught! Wait, what's the yellow hanky on the field. Holding. Ball is back to the 39. Still 2nd down. Next play, the Lions run up the middle, ball is coughed up. Saints pick it up and score the Touchdown.
