NFL Week 15

Weekly update on former Wolverines playing in the NFL.
• NY Jets Kicker Jay Feely converted a 31-yard field goal and was perfect on four PATs. He has now surpassed the 100-point plateau for the fifth time in his career with 105 points this season. Somewhere former buckeye kicker Mike Nugent is screaming "F*CK MICHIGAN !!!".
• NY Jets LB David Harris made 11 tackles - passing the double digit mark for the second week in a row. The Jets beat the Bills 31-27
• Packers CB/S Charles Woodson made six tackles for the fourth-consecutive week and recorded one sack as the Packers fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 20-16. Woodson also was announced as a starter for the NFC pro-bowl squad, his fifth career trip to Hawaii (more on that later).
• Philadelphia Eagles WR Jason Avant had a team-high 101 yards on five receptions during a 30-10 Monday night victory over the Cleveland Browns. This was Jason's first career 100-yard receiving game.
• Browns WR Braylon Edwards did his best to keep up with his former teammate, grabbing five catches for 105 yards. Braylon now has 11 career 100-yard games. All three of them this year have come on Monday Night Football. Braylon is continuing to make friends with Browns fans and the Cleveland media. Yikes.
• Tampa Bay QB Brian Griese returned to the lineup with a 26-of-37 and 269 yard performance. He threw one touchdown and the Bucs won 13-10. LB Cato June posted a season-high seven tackles in the game.
• Arizona Cardinals WR Steve Breaston had 4 catches in a loss to the Vikings.
• Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley only made 2 tackles in a win over the Ravens, but he did make the cover of Sports Illustrated this week. Very cool.
• Bengals LB Dhani Jones made 6 tackles in a win over the Redskins.
• Neither Mario Manningham or Amani Toomer shot themselves in the leg. Toomer had three catches and Manningham had one in the Giants Sunday Night loss to the Cowboys.

word of advice to Braylon: if you stop dropping the ball so much, people might appreciate you more

Sady OG, I agree with you. Although very talented, Braylon tends to lose concentration and makes drama to cover it up.

That being said, I would love to see him in an Eagles or Lions uniform.

Yes, dropping balls is not helping him but this post from HailVictors.com puts things into perspective a little bit.

"I've lived in Cleveland almost a decade, and know what the fans are like. Downtrodden, pessimistic, and nasty as hell. If you don't believe me, wear an opposing jersey walking across the Muni lot and see what nice things you hear.

They also turn on players on a dime. A guy has a bad year, and he is a piece of sh*t. Look at all of the talented coaches that have passed through here, been driven out of town, and then go on to do great things (does the name Bill Belichek ring a bell? Charlie Manuel?). If you are on top, you can do no wrong. You have a bad year, you're ducking beer bottles. So Braylon doesn't like it, he has the right to say he doesn't like it. Other Michigan players, like Aaron Shea for example, were midlevel, not high draft picks, and expectations were not high like with Edwards.

Do you think that Cleveland fans wouldn't abuse Michigan guys like Griese, Terrell, Perry, Woodley, etc., if they came in and didn't play well? Of course they would, and the most obvious jab is taking a shot at Michigan. For Gods sake, at Cavs games images of the Michigan M are shown on the scoreboard to elicit boos during foul shots by the opposing team. You people are mentally ill when it comes to sports, and then act surprised when a player like Edwards properly characterizes you. Hilarious!"
