M Den

Good news.

The M Den fills the retail space formerly held by Steve and Barry's. I am glad that Steve and Barry's went out of business. Their stuff sucked.

Now, I won't have to drag T9 all the way to Main Street anymore when I come to Ann Arbor to make my quarterly contribution to the Michigan economy via licensed M gear.

I once got 2 Michigan football jackets over at Steve and Barry's in Erie, PA and I still wear them. They were also a great price. Why do you think their stuff sucks?

BTW, I love MDen. I'm always ordering stuff from them because Happy Valley decided to take out all the Michigan stuff =(

I liked their prices, but the stuff was cheaply made. I hardly ever wore something I bought there more than a couple of times.

It will be interesting to see what this will do to Moe's.

Yeah I guess the material can be on the cheap side but mine is still in pretty good condition.

What is Moe's?

Moe's is an old school Michigan apparel store. They sell higher quality stuff like the M Den.

It is located just around the corner from the new M Den State Street location.

I just found their online store. I'll have to buy something. Thanks for mentioning them. I'll keep them in mind when I go to Ann Arbor one day.

Speaking of higher quality, I bought the adidas Michigan sideline crew t-shirt and the adidas Michigan student t-shirt before the season started and the collars are severely stretched already. However, my Nike Michigan shirts that I have had for years are still in perfect condition. I'm probably stating the obvious but I think Nike has better quality in apparel. I'm sort of hesistant to buy anymore adidas apparel. Only good thing about Michigan switching to adidas is that Nike has bad sweatshop practices.

I love the new M adidas stuff from my last visit.

I have a couple of OSU shirts from Steve and Barry's that I bought a few years ago. They are still in good condition.

Sure they were poorly made and shrank in the wash (buy a size up, obvs), but man were they cheap. A shirt that just says MICHIGAN in block lettering should never cost more than $7.50 anyway.

Steve and Barry's biz model was they did not have Nike, Addidas, and the like logos on them...they had direct licensing agreements with the colleges and universities to use their logos and marks.

the "maize and blue pleather jackets" were the inspiration on why sparty honks came up with the term "walmart wolverine."

I would welcome the M-Den taking over the lease for the Steve and Barry's store here in the 616.

aw but I LIKE going to Main Street to go to the MDen there....
that's how we find new and exciting alcoholic beverages.

And a #88 jersey!!!
(which btw Andy said I would NEVER find and I got ON SALE on Main Street. kaching!)

Your mind is going. It was an #8 jersey (Jason Avant) -- not an #88 jersey.

And yes, we will go to Main Street. I just won't have to carry my big M DEN bags into the bar anymore.

Te t-shirts at S&Bs were bad but the hooded sweatshirts are very comfortable and for 15 dollars you can't beat them. Sure the pocket stitching comes out after a while but still very comfortable.

ah crapola.
good thing you are the voice of reason and verisimilitude around here!
#8 it was.

Also the M den stuff is crazy expensive. My niece wanted a M sweatshirt for Xmas but we just couldn't justify spending 45 dollars on a 9 year old girls sweatshirt that won't fit in one year. We were able to find sweatshirt at Footlocker or something that were 2 for 40 so I got one too.
