NFL Playoffs

Update on former Wolverine players still in the NFL playoffs:

Larry Foote had 5 tackles and an interception and LaMarr Woodley had 4 tackles and 2 sacks as the Pittsburgh Steelers crushed the San Diego Chargers. Pittsburgh will host the Baltimore Ravens next week in the AFC Championship game.

Steve Breaston had 4 catches for 28 yards helping the Arizona Cardinals beat the favored Carolina Panthers. The Cardinals also have Victor Hobson, Gabe Watson, and Alan Branch on their defensive roster. This is the first time the franchise have ever advanced to the NFC Championship game.

Jon Runyan and and Jason Avant are also going to the NFC Championship game with the Philadelphia Eagles. They beat the defending Super Bowl Champion NY Giants 23-11 to advance. Runyan started at Right Tackle and Avant had 4 catches for 43 yards, including a clutch 21 yard 3rd down conversion. As the season has gone on, Avant has turned into Donovan McNabb's 3rd down security blanket.

• New York Giant WRs Amani Toomer and Mario Manningham saw their season come to an end against the Eagles. Toomer had 2 catches for 26 yards.

I share your love for the Steelers, good sir. But I want Arizona to play for the NFC. Too many Lions and Browns fans would hate to see one less team who hasn't made it the Superbowl.

gh: I don't want to burst your bubble. I can not stand the Steelers. I love Foote and Woodley. The rest of them, well... not so much.

No bubble bursted. I am well aware that there are those who do not like the Steelers.

Success breeds contempt. And the Steelers breed ALOT of contempt.

Also, when I said I shared your love for the Steelers, I was referncing Geoff's comment. Sorry for any confusion.

The funny thing was... when I was a kid... I LOVED the steelers. Bradshaw to Lynn Swann in Super Bowl X was my favorite highlight ever.

After Chuck Noll left, I lost my passion for the team.

as far as the Shittsburgh vs Ratbirds game goes...may the stadium implode and only Troy Smith and Santonio Holmes survive

and even in that scenario, ohio_guy, I don't think the bungles or the clowns would be capable of beating the steelers or ravens.
