... that does not get the message.Last night, right after Ohio State took the lead late in the 4th quarter, FOX jumped to a crowd shot. While I was shocked they did not jump to the Texas Band or Colt McCoy's parents (and hot girlfriend). My son immediately yelled out "Hey Dad... check out the Michigan fan !!!". Sure enough, there he was, in the middle of the buckeye section, clapping and supporting the Big Ten. Geoff also pointed it out in the Open Thread.
Normally when I go to a game involving teams other than Michigan, I will wear neutral colors -- or maybe something understated like a Michigan hat. Not this guy. He has the full uniform on. You have to appreciate his courage. I hope he got back home last night without any damage.

on the topic of fans being a little out of place-
if you watched the crowd shots after the game, as the stadium was emptying, they showed a couple, husband in burnt orange, wife in tosu sweatshirts, hug & give each other a kiss.
one of our departing party guests pointed the scene out to my wife who immediately responded: "why would she do that? i don't talk to __ (me) for a week before or after the michigan game!"
would hate to think what life would be like if we disagreed on anything important...
Even leading 21 - 17, looking into the eyes of the OSU fans with 2 minutes left in the game you can just tell they still knew in their heart and soul that they were going to lose again. Just so sad.
phil, phil, phil....
do we really need to go into what is sad?
(sru - you do keep me laughing)
What's sad is me having to turn off the TV before every car/truck commercial last night. Honest to Buddha, I'd almost rather listen to Tom Cruise lecture about Scientology for an hour rather than watch one more ad with trucks flying thru mud.
wv=ferte (something every OSU fan did when Texas scored in the final seconds)
That looks like some dickish thing I would do. Although I would have been standing and clapping for Texas. That would have made for a better picture. A lone Michigan man surrounded by scarlet and grey clapping when Texas breaks the hearts of rednecks everywhere.
Phil my mute button was worn out last night between the O$U band playing after every tackle, incompletion, defensive stop, first down, commercial break, minute ticked off the clock, and that damn Ram commercial. I ranted about it in the open thread as well.
"A lone Michigan man surrounded by scarlet and grey clapping when Texas breaks the hearts of rednecks everywhere"
and he would be shouting:
"look at me! I have to root for some other team to beat the Buckeyes, 'cause mine sure as hell can't!"
What's better than not plying in a bowl game? Not being one of the 5-6 BT teams that lost in this bowl season and embarrassed the conference.
wv= hanes -- her way?
-"look at me! I have to root for some other team to beat the Buckeyes, 'cause mine sure as hell can't!"-
Ohio guy, Sru and all the other regular bucks,
Can we get something witty, seriously. The same ole, same ole is getting dull. I mean, I get it... we can't beat OSU... and so you know how sweet the nineties were for us and now we know how you felt... yada, yada, yada... all I'm saying is that clever and witty would be better for a laugh.
I mean are you trying to continually prove the same point that we already get? This is the internet... who gives a fuck about winning an argument or proving a point... I guess I hope we all come here because we like the posts and the community that started with the MZone. I read the posts here with a smile... even yours, it's all good.
But seriously Ohio Guy, "look at me! I have to root for some other team to beat the Buckeyes, 'cause mine sure as hell can't!" Come on, you're better than that. How about something like, "You'd be clapping for Texas on the outside, but we all know you're crying on the inside," or "You'd clap for Texas only because you always wanted to be a martyr... FREEEEEDOOMMMMM!!!!"
I'm just sayin'.
Shorty,
well said.
i'm pretty sure BAH knew we had lost the last 5 games to tosu when he wrote his comment. the comment was still funny. the "you're 0-5 bitches" comment by a tosu troll doesn't really make BAH's comment any less funny.
it's almost like they pathetically sit at their keyboard, read a joke by a michigan fan and think: "they're 0-5! they're no longer allowed to make jokes! i have to stop them!", and then post some sad ass comment, like reminding us of the obvious will "chasten" us from still laughing at them.
I sure as hell was clapping and cheering last night.
i already said it's hard to be witty anymore because it just feels like piling on
:(
ok--here's witty.
I WAS going to put up a post about all the ways that tUOS in a BCS game is just like a hot tranny mess....
you know, you see this really hot tall blonde, talk her up and she's got this way sexy voice and she's really really friendly and thinks you are funny.....and you get her all drunk and stuff.
Then you get her home, round the bases and BAM--all that's really there is a big dick?
there ya have tUOS in a BCS game...all dressed up, hot as all get-out from a winning season and ranked really high, but then when it gets right down to it, the Bucknuts always get EXPOSED.
but, I thought that would be really really mean.....
I am so glad you did not...
or did you just do it ?
ok ok
I did start a draft with a lovely picture of Frakenfurter from the Rocky Horror Picture show, and a link to the SNL skit that parodies Christian Soriano's use of the term
but, I will leave it for you all to ponder as your own personal Kodak moment instead....
Well, whether she posted it or not, it was pretty damned funny.
why thank you.
Yay I got my name in the post =D
lmao @ T9's comment
All I'll say is at least Ohio State showed up to play last night; it wasn't a blow out. But I just hope the Big Ten can regain it's reputation as a big dog conference in football. A lot of it has to do with the recruiting battle and I think Collin Cowherd, like him or not, says it best; guys want to go to warm weather schools with hot girls.
I think this game of all the games could be laid solely on Tressel's hands. Had they played Pryor every snap they probably would have dominated the game. Every time Boekman came in TX knew exactly what he was going to do and teed off a blitz on him. Pryor ran all over them and probably could have never thrown the ball more than 5 yards the rest of the night. Also Wells' injury opened the doors for O$Us offense to run Pryor and succeed. before that they tried the same ole offense with no success. They wasted too many plays on their "senior captain" benched QB, which is a classy move but not a winning move.
If they consider the Big East and ACC as big dog conferences, then the Big Ten should be as well.
