Wallpaper Wednesday: Super Bowl Wolverines

This sunday LaMarr Woodley, Steve Breaston, Gabe Watson, and Alan Branch will join the long and impressive list of former Wolverines that have played for the modern NFL World Championship.

The first Michigan player to play in the Super Bowl was the Packers John Rowser (Super Bowl II). We have had representation in 34 of the 43 games. Two players of our guys have walked away with the MVP trophy (Desmond Howard with the Packers in SB XXXI and Tom Brady with the Patriots in SB XXXVI and SB XXXVIII). The last time a Super Bowl was played without a Michigan player involved was SB XXXII when John Elway's Denver Broncos beat the Green Bay Packers in San Diego. Personally I am cheering for Breaston and the Cardinals on Sunday -- but I will be OK with Larry Foote (his second) and LaMarr getting a ring.

My 30 minute drive to work this morning was about 1 1/4 hours so I am sick of snow as well. Only a couple months till spring football. Hang on, we can make it.....

Hell it'll probably be snowing like mad for the Spring game.

Andy I don't want to hear it.

Shoveled for the 4th time today. It finally stopped snowing as well. I no longer have a driveway than a snowboard halfpipe next to my house. Ridiculous.

Hammm, Sounds like you may still have piles of snow that have not melted by the spring game. It has not been as bad up here. A little further south got alot more snow than we did. My drive this morning was more due to the idiots who need to drive 15mph cause they are afraid. The roads were not that bad but there were just too many cars out. My son should have my driveway cleared by the time I get home so I will not have to worry about it.

Ice on the cars this morning in Austin.
It got up to around 60 later.

I can't believe that no one commented about how cool this wallpaper is. It is one of my favorite creations.

I'm still waiting on the badass hockey wallpaper.
Never been a hug NFL fan.

Yeah maybe I'll take the camera out and get some snow pictures. They called me in to drive today (UPS) and I just laughed at them and said no. Then as I was shoveling early this morning our neighborhood UPS guy came down our street then got stuck 5 houses down. There were 10 inch deep ruts in our street till about 6pm.

I have a bad-ass hockey one in the works. Maybe next week if I can get it together quick enough.

Sorry I did not comment on the wallpaper. You have spoiled us so much the we are just starting to take it for granted. I became a New England fan primarily because of Tom Brady but for Sru, Whets and O-G I also like them because of Mike Vrabel. It is a long story but I will try to make is as short as I can. I was at a wedding a few years ago for the son of some really good friends. The wedding was in Columbus and Mike Vrabel was in the wedding party as well as Bobby Hoying and his brother and a few other tuos players from the mid ninty era. Our friends son played for tuos and was a linebacker. The tuos group may know him. He is Ryan Miller #43 and was a starting linebacker his junior and senior years. I will fill everyone in on how he ended up going to tuos some other time. I have a photo with my youngest son and I with Vrabel and he was wearing his first Super Bowl ring. We also got to meet John Cooper. I know that most tuos fans do not like him, but those guys I met who played for him loved him. Anyway, I also like promenant Charles Woodson. His dad is part of our tailgate group and Hammm and his dad got to meet him this year when the came to our tailgate. The other players on the wallpaper are also very cool.

I will try to remember to comment more frequently and not take these for granted anymore.

cool story bob.

regarding snow, we had a nice 8 inches added on to the 7 or so that was already on the ground....and between the 2 layers is a nice little layer of ice from when it got above 40 for a day or 2
last week and melted things a bit

Andy,
I really liked the Gerald Ford wallpaper, but unfortunately had to quickly replace it as this badass wallpaper showed up. It is a great one... it looks like one of those you'd find on a professional wallpaper site. Good job buddy.

It never snows in fucking Paris. I wish we could have some of yours... it's been only one winter in the past 6 years for me... it snowed in Baghdad last year for chrissakes and I can't even get enough for one freakin' snowball... damn Al Gore and his Manbearpig.

O-G. I am glad you started out by mentioning "Regarding snow". Otherwise people might think you were bragging again. Do you remember Ryan Miller? He was a doing sports on channel 10 in Columbus after he graduated and he married a girl from the tuos woman's basketball team. Many of her teammates were also in the wedding and this has to be the most athletic wedding party I ever attended. They are living in North Carolina now and are expecting a baby this summer. As I mentioned, someday I will go more into how Ryan ended up being a buckeye.

Thanks GB Bob:

Does Woodson's Dad tailgate with you or Desmond Howard's ?

Andy,

I was confused and mentioned Charles Woodson when the player on your wallpaper is really Desmond. Yes, Solomon Woodson is part of the group we tailgate with every week. There are a group of about 6 or 7 families that have become good freinds over the years. We get to the Pioneer lot by 5:30am on game days and wait in line together until they open the gates at 6:00am. It does not matter who is there first. We all have our spots and set up the same way every week. We share food, drinks, stories and great companionship. Solomon is friends with one of these families and is at every game and every tailgate, although he usually shows up a little later. This group also gets together a few times outside of football season just so we stay in touch. Hammm and his dad meet up with us for the Northwestern game this year and got a chance to meet Solomon. Sorry for the confusion about which player was on the wallpaper. I quess since CW plays for Greenbay now I was just confused.
