Now that I know he is not going to die - I will post this:
South Florida kicker Maikon Bonani (yes, that is his real picture) is recovering at a local hospital after falling 35 feet from a ride while working at an amusement park.
After sending riders out of the station, Bonani thought the door might be unlocked and held on. As the gondola took off -- 35 feet above the ground -- he let go and dropped into a landscaped area. Ouch.
USF Coach Jim Leavitt told the St. Petersburg Times that he believed Bonani injured his T12 vertebra in the fall. "He's fine. The main thing here is that he didn't die, He isn't paralyzed."
Leavitt stated that if Bonani faced a long recovery, the kicker could redshirt this season.
