Hall of Famer

Congrats to my favorite former Ohio State football coach John Cooper for being enshrined into the College Football Hall of Fame this weekend. Cooper was part of a 21 person class that included Lou Holtz, Troy Aikman, Thurman Thomas and current Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald.

Cooper was quoted this weekend: "I would love to get back coaching. I miss coaching. I miss the competition. I miss game day... I don't miss compliance and academics and recruiting."

My memory is a little hazy, but I guess I missed the part of John Cooper's career that he focused on compliance and academics. Regardless, I for one would love to see him get another shot at coaching in college. Preferably in the Big Ten. Ideally at Ohio State.

Whet:

Lloyd Carr won 6 out of 13 games against Ohio State in his career.

Cooper won 2 out of 13 against Michigan when he was in Columbus.

Andy,

It's all relative. Wins are wins.

I could have said, "it was a tragic day in the history of the big game when a Tressel came crashing down on a Carr below.
