The results are in!!!! The Finns have ousted Estonia as Champions in the annual Wife Carrying Contest.
Said Taisto Miettinen, 2009 World Wife Carrying Champion: "This is the hardest thing that I have done and I have done many kinds of sports. This is the hardest thing that I have done in one minute."
Apparently other sport opportunities in Finland include:
1. World Sauna Championships on August 7-8, 2009
2. World Cell Phone Throwing Championships (not sure if this has a special sauna category or not) on August 22, 2009
3. Air guitar playing contest scheduled for August 19-21, 2009
and...
if we hurry, we can get a team together for
SWAMP FOOTBALL July 17-18.

The Fins are a crazy sort but I'd still live there. They also make some of the best race car divers as they have races all over their country on back roads that are sanctioned and legal.
I could get all chauvenistic and say that I have been carrying my wife for 35 years, but it is really the other way around. We have been happily married for 35 years because she carries me (or at least puts up with me).
I feel the same way Bob. I've basically been living the life of a house husband for our first 4 years of marriage. I hate it at times but thankfully she's got one hell of a job. Mine will pan out eventually. Waiting for eventually to happen is damn frustrating.
