Dressing the part

Check out the 2009 Ohio State football headshot of our favorite Buckeye Justin Boren.

Wow.

I guess it is safe to assume that family values do not include purchasing shirts and jackets that fit correctly.

His Dad should be so proud...

Those are his dad's duds.

An example of family values.

Take note.

The suit he is wearing in this pic isn't important. The Scarlet and Gray he will be wearing this November will be the one you will remember when he is part of the beat-down you are going to experience in your house. So many of you Skunk Bear fans have only childish jabs to throw. Let the season do the talking.

Hi Steve:

Welcome to the Spawn. I hope you stay a while and participate in the fun.

Let's be honest here, somebody looks like they stay drunk 22 out of 24 hours a day.

whetstonebuck said...

Shorty,

It's not fair to compare Justin's photo to a Marine on a 48 hour leave. Marines are professionals.

Andy said...

Boren would last about 3 minutes with the loving touch of a Marine Drill Instructor before he started to cry.

I guess it is important to note that he would never get a chance to meet a real Marine Corps Drill Instructor at boot camp without losing about 100 pounds.

With all the cash that tUOS pays its players you'd think he'd at least dress better than Fred Flintstone.

BTW- Andy-

are you just a Phillies fan? or an Eagles fan too?

was wondering about your opinion of your new back up QB.

Tom C said...

Was that really Steve? I think it was Owen! As in Owen 9 against the sec.

Andy said...

I am both a Phils and Eagles phan.

I have no opinion of our new backup QB. I believe that everyone deserves a second chance. Some NFL team was going to sign him. I hope he does well.

"can kick off get here already?"

O wise SiC, be careful what you ask for.

BTN is showing '69 game. Morehead just went in for TD after Pierson's 61 yd punt return.

BTN coverage of todays practice follows @ 10:00.

Whets- can't be any worse than last year ;)

"can't be any worse than last year"

SiC,

For your collective selves I hope not. You all are spread too far apart for me to do a health and welfare check.

Steve.... Based on recent history Michigan may get beat-down by tuos this year, but that will not make me forget this picture and will not stop us from having some fun with it. Even whets can make a funny comment about it. I am not sure what a "Skunk Bear" fan is but have no problem with childish jabs. That is what makes Spawn fun. Whets and I make childish jabs at each other all the time.

I think Boren, with a beard, would look like Merlin Olson.

I look at that picture and I have an urge to buy flowers.

GoBlue... Sorry if you took MY childish jab seriously...no, no...really! I realize that the new kid is NOT supposed to mouth off. I do love this blog, and have been reading it almost daily for quite a while. And I DO like the frequently immature prattle. Anyway, a Skunk Bear is another name for a Wolverine. Honest! You can look it up on the interwebs. That is because..."The anal glands secrete an unpleasant-smelling fluid."

Buckeyes just kill ya if you try to eat 'em! That ought to scare some folks. GO BUCKS

And, BTW...not sure why/how I appeared as Steve the first post, and Stephen the next. I may try another ID I have of FloridaBuck. There, it's out...I do not want to be mis-identified later as a Troll. O-H-I-O

OK...my last post today...thanks for "Bearing" (smile) with me while I figure this thing out. Have not posted before, and I am OLD...lived through Woody, Bruce, Cooper, and now St. James! Anyway, I DO love the rivalry, but just want to enjoy TOSU's dominance of THE GAME a few more years...other than that, I hope UM wins the rest of their games.

Pretty soon the bucks are going to out number the skunk-bears here.

GoBlueBob said...

Stephen just sounds way to formal for this group. I do not understand why you want to use Floridabuck however. Hating Florida and Urban Legend Meyer may be the only thing most of us skunk bears and hairless poison nuts have in common.

FloridaBuck said...

Goblue,Whettie,T9, Andy et al...as I said,I am new to this...and will try to allow my bias to show every chance I get. FloridaBuck came from my having lived in Florida since 2001. I work with LOTS of "lizard" fans, and have REALLY had to suck it up for a while. I have to admit that I probably reveled in your victory over Florida a couple of years ago as much as any diehard UM fan! I also have several co-workers who are UofMichigan (down in these parts, um means That Miami) alumn and really enjoy the give and take...I especially like the give part of that equation. Anyway, besides our shared disdain of anything eSSS EEE Seee, I also am developing a "strong dislike" of Penn St. I have been reading UM blogs for nearly as long as TOSU, but have just recently started reading PSU ( is that pronounced Sue?) and I find them to be the biggest bunch of crybabies in the entire universe. So, you see...there really is a softer side of me. That may be the last you see of it. GO Buckeyes!

You are soooo right about Penn State fans. There is not a bigger bunch of whiners in all of college football.

As I said before you changed your name - I am glad you came out of lurker-ville. You (and anyone else) welcome here, regardless of your school. Feel free to bring your bias, we are used to it.

I learned today that Boren has hurt his knee and it out for a few weeks.

Coincidence?

It won't matter. You could have 5 Justin Boren clones and it still won't matter.

Must be getting close to kick-off. The trash talk has started.

Not to worry. Our depth chart will handle any unforseens.

whetstonebuck said...

"You could have 5 Justin Boren clones and it still won't matter."

Are you saying Carr couldn't recruit?

Andy said...

Carr was a fine recruiter.

The issue is over the last 3 years, the only team that is good enough to beat USC - is USC.

I hope the bucks have a good showing so all this blabber about the B10 being bad can stop for a while, but I don't expect it to happen.

whetstonebuck said...

"...but I don't expect it to happen."

We got up to 35 on a thread and we're still in the off-season. I thought life had been breathed into the corpse. Sure, it took Justin Boren to do it, but...

I said...oh never mind.
