Just waking up. Very late high school game last night because of thunder storms.
Discovered this morning my TV was not working because of the storm. YIKES !!!
Crisis averted. I just had to unplug and re-plug it in.
I am forcing myself to watch the Big Ten Network this morning until I can't take it anymore.
Even though they are in Ann Arbor this week, the Friday Night Tailgate is sooooo stupid. Now watching a new show called Big Ten Cookout. They are on the golf course with a professional chef and a blonde talking head with a brilliant smile. Behind them are a dozen or so hung-over undergrads in "All In" t-shirts.
Frightful.
I take that back... They are not undergrads -- they are early rising high schoolers.

I LOVE the picture....how many times have UM bloggers posted the picture of a FRESHMAN QB for tOSU sitting on the bench dejected after an upsetting loss? Now every time I see that pic...in my mind's eye, I will see this...a VETERAN coach...crying...cause the press said mean things about him! Gotta love it.

Well, arrived in A2 w/out incident or speeding ticket. Having coffee & Obama roll on street in front of Zingerman's before heading to tailgate. Weather is glorious. All we gotta do now is win the effing game for a perfect day. Plus, no tosu trolls anywhere in sight.

No doubt. Boren does look good. TP is fast and elusive. Defense has adjusted well to the option after the first drive. On the other side, If TP goes down the bucks are very mediocre. I am not very impressed with Boom Heron. I hope I get a chance to see Jaamal Berry in the second half.

Coach Tressel needs to stop letting TP make decisions for him. No reason to go for that 4th down.
You have to applaud Navy. They never gave up and had a shot at the end to tie it. I have no idea why the QB did not run it on the 2pt try - he would have made it easily.
I still think USC wins by 10 or more.

The 4th down try was a win-win. It appears that you are not trying to run the score up and it gave his offense an opportunity to work their fourth down play prior to next week. Unfortunately, Ohio State was playing 3/4 speed and Navy wanted a win.
I give all the credit to Navy today. Bodes well for future national security.
In the long run it was the best thing that could have happened to the Bucks. Time to get serious.

Great first half. Second half looked like practice. I get it. Why not test some guys out under game conditions, but it's not much fun to watch.
Tate's obviously the guy. Denard is dynamic, but right now he's all feet. Sheridan should firmly grasp a clipboard and never let go.
I am pleased.
T9 is not. She is concerned with operation shutdown during the 2nd half.
Tate is the qb. Denard is the change up.
Defense looked good in the 1st half. Rough 2nd half for D Warren.

I thought the 2nd half "slow down" was fine. Up 31,why show any more of the playbook? Or risk any more injuries? Besides, despite racking up some meaningless yardage, WMU never got back into the game.
A couple of additional thoughts-
The O line looked great;
Lil Baby Tate looked accurate;
Denards td run was the fastes I've ever seen someone in a winged helmet accelerate with the ball live (& I've seen them all from AC forward); &
Gerg has taught the D to tackle, if he's done nothing else.

First win in season opener in 3 years. This feels good, I was concerned after last year since it seemed UofM only played one half last year in each game (if that). I was hoping no repeats. Overall good pressure & good start.
Sheridan may make a good HS coach some day.
All said and done we are 1-0. GO BLUE!!!
At times it looked like Steven Threet has transfered to Western and was wearing a Hiller jersey.
If Sheridan ever plays a meaningful down - we are in trouble.

I had the same impression about the tackling. Much improved.
The defense looked as fast to the ball as any M defense I remember. I was a bit surprised Will Campbell didn't come in until late in the 4th.
Tate looked like he has been running the spread his entire life. A couple of times he threw the ball to a secondary read and it fooled everyone. It sure is easier to score when you have a qb that can throw and run.
How about that one handed catch from Kroger ?
