Lions Gameday: Stopping the hurt

Love comes to those who still hope even though they've been disappointed, to those who still believe even though they've been betrayed, to those who still love even though they've been hurt before.

Go LIONS !!!!

The Redskins are beatable...

Even though I am a Steelers fan, I know this is a step in the right direction. Congrats Lions! and boo to the lions fans who deserted their team and allowed their first win in a long time to go unaired.

With the 10/11 game probably being 70% steelers fans, at least they'll be on tv.

It was on the TV in my house !

(Thank you directv nfl package).

I seriously thought they were going to blow it on the last play of the game.

Now that all the pressure of the losing streak is over, watch them win a couple in a row.

CNN has a little piece this morning on the fact that the Lions finally win, but how Detroit wasn't able to watch it, due to being blacked out in the Detroit area, maybe if the Ford's get enough negative press about this stupid rule they won't Black it out anymore.

Catie, the Ford's didn't black it out. If the game isn't sold out, the TV contracts don't allow it to be aired in the local area. So the backout is more on the fans than the owners (at least directly-its an easy logical step to blame the owners for selling such a bad product).

A few times in the past, the team would buy up the remaining few thousand tickets and donate them to charity so that the game could be on tv. I'm not sure if the business case is there if there are 10K tickets unsold.

Hoepfully, this win gets the ball rolling and the team can get a little closer to a respectable record.

Don't worry the Browns are well on their way to being blacked out. Congratulations you are now leaps and bounds better than that Cleveland team.

Blacked out or not, a win is a win.

The nightmare is over.

The Lions are going to keep getting better as Matt Stafford gets used to the speed of the NFL game.

The rule is a stupid NFL rule. Never mind that a good chunk of the stadiums are funded by taxpayers which makes the NFL as much of a subsidy as anything else. Actually, I thought Ford field would always sell out because the attendance was somewhere near the number they would always get at the Silverdome. I never accounted for a team this bad though.

But I don't care, they still pissed me off.....
