There aren't too many things I enjoy more than watching a Michigan win or a Notre Dame loss. The thing I love most about this game is the potential to see both at the same time.
Won two tickets to Saturday's game yesterday!!! Taking a good buddy who is True Blue and has never seen a game at the Big House - he was perma-grin when I asked if he could join me in the Game Day festivities in Ann Arbor.
A week ago he nearly lost his family in an overnight house fire. Thankfully everyone got out safely, but they have been displaced while restoration crews are scrubbing the place clean.
Because of this, he missed seeing the game last weekend on TV, as they were staying with some diehard Irish fans -- and God himself knows that nobody was going to watch Michigan football on their TV.
After hearing that, I sat him down in front of YouTube last night and we watched the 10 minutes of highlights from the opener -- TWICE! All he could say was "WOW".
I've been attending home games since I was 9 years old back in the mid-seventies, and I can't remember a time that I was more excited to watch a Michigan team take the field than right now.
Actually, I think ND is a perfect team to take on coming off last week's victory. The team is going to be on fire and Tate is going to keep them loose. He sure looked calm, cool and collected - and I just can't see this kid making stupid mistakes. A win this week should carry us through September and 4-0 going into the Little Brother game in Lansing.
the most recent AP poll has Ohio State at 8th. This is OSU's 755th appearance in the AP top 25, which breaks a tie with Michigan and puts OSU at #1 on the all time AP poll appearance list
Loaded may be but I think this will be a down year for TUOS. The RB did nothing to excite and did not have near the explosive power Wells had. TP should have come to M because at least here he would have been taught how to throw the ball. (watching him last year and this year so far I'm glad he didn't)Until he learns to pass he's just a gazelle in a QB uniform. Defense is still pretty stout but showed some weakness against Navy. If not for the defense the last few years they wouldn't have been ranked as high. That's their one significant advantage this year over a few other BTen teams.
If they can't seriously put some heat on the frosh QB at USC they will be in for a hurting. USC has way too much depth and way too good of a defense. God help you if TP goes down.
BTW the wallpaper looks incredible on the 52inch TV! Are we going to get the same wallpaper just with the PSU QB knocked out for PSU week? That too is a great image.
Great image! Justthinking, so sorry to hear about your friend. Sounds like his "friend" isn't much of a friend, your family home is burned and they won't even let you watch your game? Chalk one up for those ND fans...geesshh!
Once again, I must come here and read an OSU troll comment, you all getting a bit nervous? You think it just might be possible...........
my inner troll is on 24/7 365 - has nothing to do with an upcoming game
not worried about USC - we're going to lose. Until Bollman is gone we'll never have a good OL and that's a big key to us losing big games lately.
We shouldn't have been ranked this high to start with - we end last year around 10 and we lose Robiskie, Hartline, Beanie, Jenkins, and Little Animal to the NFL (all high picks) and now we're #6?
The days of Mike Doss staying to win championships are gone. Gotta believe we've lost more juniors to the NFL than any NCAA team the last 5 years. I'm sure seeing what happened to Henne and Hart didn't help.
sru, go to an OSU sight and enjoy posting your witty comments. It is incredible that you find the need to hang out on a Michigan blog, only to spew vile at every chance you get.
Catie: I think his act is kinda funny. Sad, but funny.
Sru: In 1995 Jose Mesa led the AL in saves. In 1997 he delivered 16 saves, and had 4 more in the post season. Without Jose Mesa, the Tribe would have never made it to either World Series.
Crable did not lose the Appy State game. Michigan lost the Appy State game.
so i just had this visual of all of us standing in our front yards in our "neighborhood". we're chatting about the crab grass or whatever and Whets drives by and we all smirk because everyone sorta likes him but he doesn't put weed killer on his yard so he always has dandelions, so we think he's a bit odd.
and then Sru drives by and we all scowl, 'cause he's the guy who always walks his dog at night and never picks up the shit in your yard, so nobody really likes him.
Picked up the tickets today - Section 25, Row 2 - looks like it's between the band and the team around the 30 yard line from what I can gather.
Always sat in one endzone or the other, above the top of the goalposts, so this will be a new perspective for watching the game.
Also in the ticket envelope were two corporate hospitality passes for a gathering over on the 18th green of the golf course. That'll be a first for me.
My bud has a nice digital camera he's bringing along - not too big, not too small - so hopefully we'll have some great pics from our vantage point to share with everyone after our Big Meeeechigan Win!
WV = denties. Those things that they'll be hammering out of Jimmah's helmet after Saturday.
you scowl because i'm the guy in the neighborhood with the nice car, hot wife, biggest house and i remind you as often as i can that i have those things and that you have the house that used to be nice 10 years ago, the new carr that was awesome for it's previous owner but stalls out all the time now, and a Big House that's eerily quiet every weekend.
Yes sru, but despite your obvious superiority you just can't seem to master the concept of hitting the shift key when you are typing "I"... They teach this to kids in Michigan in like first grade.

LOVE this one
That would make a good caption contest as well...
"What do you mean this is a dry campus?"

3 days! Whoooooo!
Random fact of the day:
the most recent AP poll has Ohio State at 8th. This is OSU's 755th appearance in the AP top 25, which breaks a tie with Michigan and puts OSU at #1 on the all time AP poll appearance list
More random facts...
National Titles
Michigan 11 TUOS 7
Bten Titles
Michigan 42 TUOS 33
All time wins
Michigan 872 TUOS 808
Head to head
Michigan 57 TUOS 42 6 Ties
That is all.
It was real nice not to need any healing pics for last weekend but I sure do miss the Sunday (Wednesday?) Swimsuit.
Perhaps we could have "victory pics"?
I will happily forsake semi-naked women for continued victories.
BTW O_G, congrats. No doubt the Bucks are loaded. I just hope we can make the rivalry intersting again someday.

is that Crable in the picture?
after his work against OSU in 2006 and Appy State in 2007 not sure you want to honor him.
You can always tell when Sru is afraid of an upcoming game, his inner troll comes out.
If we shunned every player that ever got a penalty or made a mistake on the football field -- we would not have any players to cheer.
my inner troll is on 24/7 365 - has nothing to do with an upcoming game

and for a 5th year senior to blow basic FG coverage against a 1-AA school is unforgivable.
the late hit on Troy Smith to extend that drive can be chalked up to the heat of the moment.
The Appy State FG, no excuse. It'd be like an Indian's fan making a Jose Mesa wallpaper

Schadenfreude
He would go to an OSU site if there were one.
Starting to get a bit unneighborly in here.
Even the best neighbors don't like it when you pee in their pool.

....and O_G's house is ignored on halloween because he is the guy that none of the parents feel comfortable leaving their unsupervised children with.
Dandelions are a salad crop. What's so odd about that?
"sorta." Geez, I shower regularly.
He would go to an OSU site if there were one.
???
Thanks Catie -

So, Michigan kids are shiftier than others? Not sure that's an admirable trait.
Also, if Michigan kids are in something "like" first grade what would that be? I'm guessing Special Ed if the kids in question happen to be teenagers.
