Saturday's sad performance has left me yearning for our 'glory days'. I miss Tom Terrific and Woodson and all the other guys who made me smile. Well, the football gods have provided!Monday Night Football.
You can tune in to ESPN at 8 pm tonight and see 5 (FIVE) Wolverine Alumni go at it as the FINS take on the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!Normally when I watch games, I root for whomever has a Michigan Man on the team---but tonight's game will have my allegiances split.
The game will be played in Miami, at the best-named stadium around....
The home-field Dolphins come in to Week 5 with an underwhelming
record of 1-3 in the AFC East. Chad Henne will make his second start at QB, protected on the left side by #1 draft pick Jake Long. Henne led the Fins to a 38-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills last week. The Jets come into this match-up leading the AFC East at 3-1 after a big loss to New Ahlins last week. They are led by their
noobie QB Mark Sanchez. Braylon Edwards is now in uniform for Ne
w York and it will be interesting to see if he can a) quickly adapt to the offense, b) hang on to the ball, and c) beat up Eli Manning's best friend??? David Harris has 33 tackles in 4 games from his linebacker spot and 2 sacks to date. Jay Feely, kicker extraordinaire, missed practice due to a family issue, but scouting reports expect him to play. I've read in a few spots that there was a death in Feely's family, and if so, I send my sincere condolences for sure. The line on this game is close---Jets by 2. Given my complete and utter adoration of Tom Brady, I'm pulling for the Fins, just so the Jets can fall a bit in the standings......either way, it should be a good game with lots of back stories and drama.

It is also worth mentioning that Stephen M Ross BBA '62 is the majority owner of the Dolphins and the Dolphin's Stadium.
Hmm....so should I root for Ginn and Hartline...or Mangold, Gholston and Hartsock?
Root for Hartline. His wife is hot.
That Clowns Buffalo game was one of the worst football games I have ever seen. The Clowns never stopping to break their own miserable records recorded their lowest passing total in 56 years! Buffalo was no better as their punt returner apparently went to the same class that Mathews attended. I really hoped the game was going to be a 3-3 tie so it could have gone down as the biggest waste of 75 minutes ever. Sadly the Clowns won.
As my wife asked me why I root for them to lose every game but I say I like them I answered that 90% of the players on the Clowns wouldn't start for any other team in the league. A lot wouldn't even be backups like the two worthless QBs they have. Just a terrible terrible team and I'd much rather have the Lions as our home team.
Lions as your home team. Wow....
I'm already a M fan it's not that big of a stretch.
I watched the Lions Steelers yesterday for as long as I could stand it.
Culpepper suffers from the same "butter finger" disease that Ryan Mallet and Steven Threet have.
Do you think if the Browns and Lions combined their rosters they could compete in the NFL ?
Andy one word:: NO
Why was Culpepper playing? I kept seeing his stat line come up but I never heard a talking head say why Stafford was out.
Stafford hurt his knee against the Bears.
I keep looking at the teacher in the Iowa Healing post and smiling. Wow. I would have failed on purpose to stay in her class.
Yes would love to see the lower half of that pic.
Well looks like I'll be watching some o the reunion tonight. The hellish last two weeks continues as the wife is right now being admitted to the hospital because she probably has pneumonia. That combined with early pregnancy makes Drs have fits. I too am still horribly sick and haven't had a good nights sleep since September. I go back to the DR tomorrow and I'm betting they will tell me I have pneumonia too by now. I think the ER last week screwed me up as I only got worse afterwards.
On a better note we now have a pic of our newest little larvae! She got to see and hear the hummingbird heartbeat as well and the OB said the heartbeat and everything was right where it should be for 7 weeks along in the preg. We were real concerned with the sickness and the drugs they had to prescribe her damaging the baby.
If anyone's family or friends start to show the earliest signs of flu/head cold get them to a DR or ER (whichever they suggest in your area) immediately. I don't know what they can do but not doing anything like we basically did is not the answer.
Let's see...I'm a Jets fan, I hate the Dolphins with a passion. Duh.
Henne to Ginn for a TD
that's just weird
is anyone watching this game???
amazing!! 27-24 Jets 1:33 in the 4th, Fins with the ball, 2nd and 10 at New York's 21 yard line.
The wildcat has been crazy for the Dolphins and even Pat White has played back at QB.
TD MIAMI with 6 tics of the clock left
I am sad to admit that I did not watch any of this game. All my attention was on the Phillies.
I didn't see the end but I watched a little of it.
Diagnosis :: Walking pneumonia. Yay for me. I am the proud owner of an inhaler now and some super strong meds. Wife will be coming home from hospital tonight as well which is good.
I haven't looked yet but I'd love to read some of the Ohio comment bashing of Braylon edwards as he almost had 2 TDs in his first game with the Jets. Somehow they blame Michigan for his sucking at Cleveland.
