Fired

The Alamo Bowl drama continues...

Texas Tech fired coach Mike Leach today, two days after he was suspended by the school as it investigated his treatment of Craig Jame's kid who was injured with a concussion. They handed Leach's attorney a termination letter just minutes before the two sides were to appear in a Lubbock courtroom for a hearing on the coach's suspension.

Ted Liggett (Leach's lawyer) said that Texas Tech general counsel Pat Campbell approached him outside the courtroom and told him : win, lose or draw in the hearing, Leach was out, effective immediately.

Your move Sparty.

What a joke. See my comment in the wallpaper thread.
At this point they should just be giving out free tickets to this bowl game.

At what point do we hear a quote from Dantionio somewhere in the neighborhood of "When a coach can't control his players or his actions he has to reap what he sews."

What's the over under on Dantonio coaching both sides of the field for the game? That would make NCAA history.

Also just noticed::

Ryan Mallet in the NFL? Seriously? If he somehow ends up in a Cleveland Clowns jersey I will burn everything I own and buy Detroit.
He hasn't fumbled enough in college so he wants to try dropping a larger football?

Weighing his legal options, Ted immediately proceeded to lock Pat Campbell in a dark closet.

class move by Texas Tech---pull the trigger before they have to pay him 800 K.

And listening to ESPN talk about it and allowing Craig James to comment during the bowl game broadcast is disgusting.

Mike Leach is gonna call Bobby Knight now to figure out what to do....

I wouldn't worry the James' will be receiving a lawsuit here shortly as well. Then we'll have a silent Craig James thank god.

How is it that you all let the Pam Ward thing go?

"How is it that you all let the Pam Ward thing go?"

Whatchu talkin' 'bout Cletus?

Andy said she scared him and T-9 said she had a radio persona. That's pretty rough.

I was more fascinated by the female line judge. That's just a crime against nature. They should keep the womens off the field* and out of the booth.

*skimpily clad cheerleaders are excepted.

Pam Ward.

Hope she gets fired.

The Michigan offense combined with the Air Force defense would win multi national championships. Damn they're good.

Wow. Air Force and Houston. Quite a slugfest. Back to back kickoff returns for TDs.

And I stopped watching.

Michigan's basketball team is broken. The entire major sports programs are broken.

Boo.

HAHA Whets has missed three bowl predictions in a row! What a loser!

I'm honored to have missed the Air Force pick. I wanted them to win, but I bought in to the Houston hype.

And yet, I'm still a loser. Sigh.

Tell me, phil, how does one live under such a cloud?

Oklahomos and Stanford going at it in pastoral El Paso.

I still think you all and Harbaugh should kiss and make up. He would give Sen. Tressel a run for his money. In fact, I'd put my money on Gentleman Jim. At least he can consistently beat USC.

Oh, well.

Happy New Year.

Happy New Year to all of the faithful Spawn contributors and visitors. And a special New Year greeting to Andy and T9 for keeping the blog going. It had been a tough couple years but maybe our luck will change in 2010. Go Blue!
