Beware of the Angel of Death

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.
~ Norman Cousins

Warning to all college and pro football fans reading this blog. I am the Angel of Death for any and all football teams I root for. This weekend has finally convinced me of this simple yet terrifying fact. For those that know me, I don't need to mention what has happened to the Michigan program or the Detroit Lions franchise. This weekend I cheered for, in order: Bengals, Eagles, Patriots, and Packers. Each and every one of them... GONE.

Be afraid. Very afraid.

A bone flute?

That just gives "creepy" a whole new meaning.

Andy.... As tempting as it might be, do not start rooting for tuos, MSU or ND. It is not worth the pain and suffering you would endure, even though your intentions would be good.

Andy, Mik, et al,
Here's one of the Dallas fight songs. Thought you'd enjoy singing this while you root the Cowboys on.

Thank me later. - Whet

The best way to pledge your loyalty to "America's Team" is to learn to sing their fight songs. The official fight song of the Dallas Cowboys is called "Go Dallas Cowboys."

Go Dallas Cowboys
Go Cowboy Team
We're here to cheer you on your way
With a great big Yippee-Ai-Ay
Show 'em Dallas Cowboys
You're really booming on the beam
The eyes of Texas are upon you
Dallas Cowboy team

Ride 'em Cowboys hit that line
Keep that ball control
Run the ends and throw that pass
'Til you cross that goal line

And here I thought the Lions fight song was the gayest of them all...

NFL teams have fight songs?
The only one I ever knew of was the Superbowl Shuffle.

The Lions do have a fight song. The only part I remember is "Marching down the field, A Lions team that will not yield....blah blah blah..."

But given recent history they may have the modify it to:
"We just wnat a first down..."

Yes a Detroit Lions Fight Song actually exists:

Gridiron Heros
Forward down the field,
A charging team that will not yield,
And when the Blue and Silver wave,
Stand and cheer the brave!
Rah! Rah! Rah!
Go hard win this game!
With honor you will keep your fame!
Down the field and gain,
A Lion victory!

And then there is the sickly lion roar....

The cowardly lion from the wizard of oz is more appropriate for Detroit.
