Spawn Bowl Game Pick 'em FINAL standings
Here is the final standings for the Spawn Bowl Pick 'em contest. Congrats to HMBFossil. Despite the fact he was the last entry for our little contest he was able to select four winners and the closest BCS point total. If he did not already hate him, GoBlueBob has a very good reason to loath Nick Saban. Normal coaches would have just sat on the ball with a 10 point lead less than two minutes left. If Saban wasn't such an ass in allowing his offense to score again -- GBBob would have had the correct BCS number and taken home the trophy.

Andy.. you are right about me already having a big dislike for Suitcase Saban the carpetbagger, even though I picked Alabama to win. As I commented last night after the game, I thought I had it locked up and then Texas throws another interception. I still thought I had it locked up because anyone else would have just taken a knee. To put another spin on this, if the Ducks could have beaten tuos, you, Mikoyan and I would have been tied at 5-0 and I would have won based on points since the fossil would have been out of it at 4-1. At least Sleazy McSweatervest is loyal to tosu, unlike Suitcase Saban. And now we have to listen to another year of how the Suck Everyones C*ck conference is so much better than all the rest.
Enough of my ranting. Congrats again to HMBFossil. My only regret in this whole contest is that T9 did not participate.
Apparently she is too busy with something called LIFE. Either that or she did not want to be the only girl in the contest.

Perhaps Saban realized that unless they ran the score up a little they had a good chance of not securing the AP National Championship? That is if the voters actually voted on quality and not popularity.
McCoy's NFL stock has probably plummeted after that game. I finally just saw the injury on Sportscenter and that hit looked like nothing. If he's going to get that injured from something like that then the NFL will break him like a twig. 4th round or leter for him.
Congrats to HMB. I'm satisfied that I gave you a good run right up to the finish. And look at Whet right down at the bottom. Glad I'm not in his shoes. lllosssser.

So let me get this straight.
Texas has 1 loss. Florida has 1 loss. Boise State has no losses. Both Florida and Texas are ahead of Boise State? I realize there is the argument that Boise State doesn't play anyone (or something) but Boise State did what they are supposed to do...which is win. Yet they get punished for that.
And with Alabama and Florida in the top three, we'll get to hear for another year about how great the SEC is.
The B11 got 3 teams in the top ten. Not bad. The $EC can't claim that.

And just so you don't think that I was sizing up the competition or making a calculated move,(I'm not that clever) I'll explain why my picks were last minute.
I spent Christmas to New Year's week comforting my 2 yr old twins through ear infections and pneumonia (with the requisite late night, weekend trip to the ER, of course) AND nursing my wife through a stomach flu. About 30 minutes before Sparty's bowl game, I realized (ok, I actually stood up suddenly and exclaimed Holy Crap!) that I had better make my picks.
So I did, guessed 35-21 for the BCS score to arrive at 56 and PRESTO!
Just chalk my win up to Karma rewarding me for getting through last week.
