1 - 0 Canada after one period. We are out-hitting them and winning a lot of individual battles. Our pressure is strong. The one goal was a second chancer. Those things happen.
Jack MF Johnson got a little chippy at the end of the period.
One goal is not going to win this game.

Remember 2-0 is one of the worst leads in hockey. I don't know how many times I've seen a team come back from the 2-0 lead. It's high enough that one team backs down a bit but low enough that the other team thinks it's still in it.
Anyways....I wish NBC would quit sucking Crosby's dick. Do we have to see his ugly face every time he's on the ice?
We played much much better in the 2nd part of that period. I am feeling better - at least we have a shot. The difference in this game is the one inch the puck did not move over the line behind Luongo early in the first period.

This was the headline of my local paper this morning.
SIC.... Those of us in Detroit already had a great dislike (hate in pc terms) for Ms. Crosby from game 7 last year. The only thing good about this is that Steve Yzerman and Mike Babcock are involved with Canada (obviously) and I am happy for them.
Hammm.... I do not think they would have done a shootout. I think it is like Stanley Cup play where they continue to play complete 20 minute periods until someone scores. Also, let's not get carried away with boycotting Canadian brews.
The Canadian girl is very interesting. In fact, I cannot leaf my eyes off or her.
Bob they had mentioned in the broadcast that they got one OT period of 4 on 4 and then a shootout. Sadly playoff hockey is the only hockey that let's it be decided as it should be. I hate shootouts in all sports. My local college Akron U lost the men's NC soccer game because of a shootout at the end of a 0-0 game. They should have just let the kids play till the game was over. Shootouts in soccer are ridiculous as it is but to decide the NC or a gold medal on them is ludicrous.
Hammm... Must have missed the discussion regarding how the OT worked. I was trying to get some other stuff done during intermissions and probably just did not hear the explanation. I hate shootouts also and in hockey they should continue to play until someone wins.
