All things considered, Michigan got a great draw in the NCAA tournament. They get to stay relatively close to home AND the top seed in their regional is a team they just smacked down in the CCHA semis.Bemidji State is no gimme. Just last year the Beavers took out top ranked Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA tournament. They ended up going all the way to the final four before losing to Miami in the national semi finals.
I am working up the energy to do a KYF for Bemidji State, likely ready on Friday.

Thank you for that insight. I do not know how I would have survived the morning without this. Oh and #%#$^#$@^ to you to.
Wow. Apparently M has reached an Asian market. Once Andy deletes that post everyone will wonder wtf I'm talking about.
I've been seeing Asian writing on my blog as well.
I fucking hate spammers. It's bad enough to get them in e-mail....
I am a bit surprised that there is not more discussion regarding the hockey team winning the CCHA playoffs and keeping the 20 year streak of NCAA appearances alive. I guess the Spawn nation is more about football but I would have thought this would have prompted a few more comments. I guess I am more involved since I have had season tickets for several years now and really enjoy the games at Yost. I was thinking of going to Fort Wayne for the first round but will end up watching on tv. It is just too much to try to do with my current schedule.
I also will be missing the spring game due to work committments in San Francisco. Hammm... I think my sons are still going so if you are interested let me know so you guys can get hooked up for tailgating.
Definitely looking forward to the games on TV this weekend. It's not often I get to "see" a Michigan hockey game and last Friday was awesome. I had to get updates via the web for the championship game and that blew on Saturday.
Bob I won't be attending the Spring game. As much as I want to, and even hell Akron U has their spring game that day also, I have to go to my wife's friend's wedding. I wouldn't pick this girl out of a trash bin if she needed help but I guess I'll go and get a free meal out of it.
ham,
i have a friend who last November completed 50 straight seasons w/ out missing a tosu home game. i attended a little reception his son threw him at the Blackwell Center after the Iowa game.
he's divorced now.
go to the wedding, eat the free meal, stay married longer.
Hammm... I thought you were going to the spring game but this is one of those things were it is probably better to keep the peace. I am very excited about the hockey team and hope they can continue to do well. I commented on another post how they changed some players on the second line near the end of the regular season and it sparked some additional offense. Also, Hunwick has played exceptionally well in goal which always helps in a playoff run.
Brian at Mgoblog stated it best when he said that when Hunwick came in the rest of the team picked themselves up to support him. They played aggressive defense and tried to make it as easy on him as possible. Had they played that way with Hogan who knows? Hopefully the week layoff won't bring down their buzz and they can ride it into the frozen four. I worry about Miami though. It's hard to beat dominant teams like that more than once when it counts.
Forget all this hockey crap. The real news is that SiC has a "friend" that is a tOSU football fan.
I think I'll go outside now and look to the east.
SIC.. I missed your earlier comment on the other post about your expeience at the game. Sounds like it was great. We were watching on the tv at my neices party but it was at a bar and the sound was turned down. I am giving some consideration to going to Fort Wayne this weekend since it looks like the game on Saturday night will not be on tv.
I thought the games were on ESPNU?
It looks like some of the games are on ESPNU but on Saturday night they are showing one of the other regional finals and not the midwest quarterfinal game. It may be on later tape delayed but that would suck to have to watch it that way. I hope I am wrong but everyplace I have looked indicates I am not. I thouhgt I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
GBB/Ham,
the game is on ESPNU on tape delay (11:00 pm).
& the game WAS great on Saturday. i took another tosu friend (yeah, Whets, there are 2 of them) who likes hockey and had never been to the Joe. he enjoyed the game (he didn't exactly openly cheer for us, but he made a point NOT to wear green & yellow) & was very impressed w/ our fans, the atmosphere, and the Red Wings' banner display in the rafters of the arena (which as a CBJ fan, even i have to admit is pretty impressive).
as i said, it was a lotta fun to watch a game that meant something & win.
It may be tape delayed but it might as well be live to me as it's hard for me to get any info without looking it up myself. I can record it and watch it Sunday morning along with the Formula 1 race. Looks like a good weekend!
So all my Uverse has listed for Sat night is hour after hour of College Hockey but it doesn't say which game is which.
Dammit.
