Wallpaper Wednesday: Those who stay

Spring practice started this week. Yeah!

Standing ovation to my friend MG (visit his site mghelmets.com) for the unbelievable rendering of the winged helmet with a grey facemask. His photoshop artistic skills make me drool.

I like MG's helmets but still prefer the Michigan helmet with the blue facemask.

No question. The blue facemask is better. However, they did wear the grey style in 1969, which was the theme of the wallpaper.

I guess I missed the 1969 theme although it is very obvious to me now that you kicked me in the head to wake me up. I also noticed the evolution of the facemasks while browsing on MG's site and looking at the SuperBowl section. He shows the helmets (and other statistics) for all the SuperBowls to date and you can see the facemasks changing from the single bar to the current cage look. I really enjoyed looking through his site and he has some very interesting concepts. I liked the hockey logo football helmets. Sounds strange but it looked pretty cool seeing a Red Wing logo on a football helmet.

He is very talented. He used to have a lot more "real" helmets up, but I am sure he got a nasty letter from the NCAA licensing company.
