On Saturday the Michigan Baseball program will retire Barry Larkin's number 16 jersey in a ceremony before the game against Ohio State. During his time in Ann Arbor, Barry played with future Reds teammates Chris Sabo ('83) and Hal Morris ('85). These three Wolverines formed the core of the Cincinnati Reds team that won the 1990 World Series.

I honestly never knew that Larkin played at Michigan. Interesting stuff.
Sidebar note: I hope they do something a little better with the seating they're putting in where the old press box was. it looks temporary and cheap. I'm sure they could have engineered a way to blend it in to the other seats so you wouldn't even notice. Plus it looks like they're losing a lot of seating space with the huge gaps on all sides. I would think it a little embarrassing to spend so much on stadium renovation and then leave something with an unfinished look as that has.

Hammm... The seats in the old press box area are not completed yet. My sons told me when they went to the spring game that the cement base is in but not the benchs or seats or whatever they are going to put there. They are going to be renumbering all the seats making them a little wider and also making the aisles wider and adding hand rails. The east side of the stadium will be completed this year and the west side next year. As a result of this change, I have been working with the ticket office and was able to get our 8 tickets all together. We had been split up until now but since I knew they would be making changes put in a request and they were able to put us all together.
Sweet, nice work on the seat change! It looked in the overhead shots that there were bench seats already installed. The pics were kind of small though so it was hard to tell. I guess I'll wait to see it in person to pass final judgment.
Let me know if there's ever anyone not coming to a football game I may jump on the tickets if possible.
