Bettman sucks donkey balls. The Refs suck. The Sharks suck (actually they don't but I've got to get that off my chest). Bettman still sucks donkey balls though.

As much as I want to blame the crappy officiating in this series for the Red Wings demise, in order to be consistent I really can't. Plain and simple, the Red Wings did not perform to their usual levels. The only time we saw that was in Game 4 and something tells me the Sharks felt they had a game to give and the Wings played out of thei minds. And I wonder how much of that was due to the number of injuries over the season and not quite jelling.

Oh well, given that 2 weeks before the playoffs it looked like thier streak might end, I can't complain too much.

Mikoyan, I disagree that they played out of their minds in game 4. I believe that was the 2nd game that they played to their potential. When the Wings play like the Wings, noone can skate with them. Game 7 with Phoenix and 4 with San Jose. Sadly, like you said, with the injuries and never quite jelling, and for whatever other reasons, they couldn't put together any consistincy. The officiating was horrible, but that's not the reason they lost. It's probably the reason the series only went 5 games, but that's about it.

I watch every game, (DVR with Center Ice as I'm in Austin), and inexplicably, I'm not that devastated. I'm hoping they get some rest, and come back next year and have the kind of regular season they're used to having. They've played a lot of hockey in the last 3 years. So hopefully they can all get some rest and come back healthy and ready to dominate.

Anyway, . Is football here yet?

No, I can't complain. Two Years in a row in the Stanley Cup finals, one of those years winning the Cup. They have now been in the playoffs for 19 straight years. so maybe this is a good thing for them. I just hope Lidstrom comes back.

But Bettman still sucks donkey balls.

I'm surprised that no UM blogs have made any mention of the incredible offseason former UM icer Mike Cammalleri is having. This could be some Tom Brady 2001-type theatre here.

As a Pens fan, he's giving me fits. He's certainly outshined the biggest stars in the game so far. Bully for him, but I hope he has an off-day on Wednesday...

Tough break for the Wings this year. Not sure about the jelling argument. They did exceptionally well for 2 months before the playoffs started. Plenty of teams have gone on the great postseasons with less time to get cohesive. 300 or so games in 30 months with one of the oldest teams in the league certainly didn't help them. At times they looked very tired.

gh, I see your point. But while they had a great record following the olympics, it's not like they played completely lights out during that stretch. 5-6 of those games they should've lost. because they played like crap. But a bounce here, bounce there, Howard was huge pretty much that whole time.
I agree they looked tired a lot of the time.

And yes, Bettman sucks. As they say on A2Y, Thanks Gary. Ass.
