Last night in Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park a drunk (and stupid) fan ran out onto the field, waved a rally towel around, and got tasered for his efforts. He falls flat on his face at about the 17 second mark. I love the reaction of Ryan Howard (Phillies firstbaseman), he is covering his mouth with his glove because he is laughing. There is no truth to the matter that the guy is Boubacar Cissoko.
The 17-year-old was charged with defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. According to a report in the Philadelphia Inquirer, he called his father to ask permission to run on the field prior to doing so. The father says he did not grant permission. The MLB site has a better video of the event, but it will not embed.
He wasn't drunk / high / doing it on any kind of bet according to his dad. Just wanted the "once-in-a-lifetime experience" for what it's worth (not much).
... and he falls because, you know, he was tasered and you don't have a lot of control over your body when that happens.
Still, a really dumb thing to do. He had his fun and probably should have just let them catch him after a few seconds rather than get tasered...
For every fan like this you have fans like those two mulletheads in Chicago who rush the field and actually do harm. Since the cops don't know which type of fan they are dealing with, they are better in erring on the side of caution. Of course, that wont stop him from suing the cops, the Phillies and probably the taser company. never mind that he was somewhere where he shouldn't be and never mind that he was breaking the law, because it was all in "good fun". Also because of this, the cops wont taser the next guy that runs on the field and when he starts slugging out one of the players, we will ask ourselves why that happened.
