Happy 65th Birthday Coach

“I don't ever in my life remember going into any game feeling like I was an underdog. I certainly have never experienced that at Michigan.”
~ Lloyd Carr

36 days and a wakeup until the season starts.

How can this thread not generate some comments from the faithful?

I am surprised also.

I honestly think that Michigan fans are so shell shocked with the events of the last two years, they are afraid to say anything at this point.

Eh. As good a coach as LC was he left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth. A good 40% of Ms troubles over the last 2 seasons could be attributed to him I believe.

Been looking at possible games to attend and I just don't think we'll be making it to any. Hectic fall schedule for us and we already have planned to come to the hockey game in Dec. Bob let me know if you need our money for our tickets anytime. We'll be in town for the airshow next Sat but I don't know how much extra time we'll have as we need to get back to pick up the 2 month old.

I cannot believe I let whets post a comment before me since I have been asking about a countdown. As much as I do not like what has happened over the last few years, I always am excited when the new football season starts. As I have mentioned several times in the past, I take advantage of every aspect of the game day experience from early morning to early evening. The game is the most important part of those days, but there is much more that makes up the whole experience.

Hammm... Do not worry about payment for the hockey tickets yet. They have already been paid for and I can collect from you whenever. And I hope you can figure out a way to come to at least one game.

Our 5th anniversary is this year so we're doing something nice the weekend of the 18th. The 4th is out as it's Labor day weekend and we'll be going to Cleveland to watch planes that Friday and cant really get a baby sitter two days in a row. BGSU game probably out due to same situation where we cant get sitters two weekends in a row. Then as the season progresses it gets harder and harder to get face value tickets. She threw the Iowa homecoming game out as the most likely we'd be able to attend but I don't know if I'll be willing to shell for the price of those tickets.

a) Lloyd Carr is a wonderful and decent man, and a fantastic coach

b) It is best to go out on top (no matter your profession) so people say: "why is s/he leaving now?" rather than "when is s/he leaving?" Lloyd may have been a year or two too late...sadly

c) Dave Brandon continues to clean house. Strange co-inky-dink that Lloyd announced his retirement from the Athletic Dept. in the middle of the summer all quiet like a few months after Davie B. arrived? Methinks not.

d) Lloyd Carr is a wonderful, decent man.

Bob,

You need to get up earlier to catch me. Yes, I am but a worm.

You know, I liked Lloyd. I thought he was a good coach except maybe he should have thrown out Bo's attitude towards the Bowl games. I hope he had a happy Birthday.
