I don't care about the NBA, but anything that makes so many Ohioans so unhappy is alright in my book.In my opinion, the sport is a baby step above professional wrestling in terms of actual competition. The LeBron-athon of the last week has been so nauseating, I am actually looking forward to watching the World Cup soccer final.
Thankfully, I had some old episodes of Two and a half Men on my DVR and missed the hour long ESPN "decision" special last night. From what I could gather, it was compelling television.
<---- Now the fun starts. Besides the incredible letter posted by Cavs owner (and Sparty grad) Dan Gilbert, the reaction to this circus has been simply awesome. The new material provided by scorned buckeye state fans will fill the gap until football season starts.
My favorite this morning is from James on WaitingForNextYear.com: Lebron, you are a worthless piece of crap. Enjoy being the second banana to Wade for the rest of your sorry career. Thanks for hosting an hour-long special to stick a knife in your hometown’s back. Thanks for quitting in the playoffs last year. Thanks for leaving, so the Cavs can get an actual superstar who will win on his own, and not hold the city and team hostage.
The front page of the Cleveland Plain Dealer is nicely done. One thing I do know, LBJ had better brush up on his spanish.
Sleep well Cleveland.... Long live the King.

You need to put your photoshop skills at work with the "Witness" sign that's been hanging in Cleveland forever.
I posted it on my Facebook page saying "I once F#*%ed a city THIS BIG!"
I was thinking of doing a former MSU Spartan NBA stars in Cleveland Cavs uniforms collection.
Magic Johnson, Scott Skiles, and Steve Smith would certainly help Gilbert deliver that championship he has promised.
As much as I hate Ohio, I have to feel a twinge of sympathy for Cleveland. As far as snake-bitten spots cities go, they have to take the cake. I don't know how many last minute comebacks to knock them out of playoffs have come at their expense but it is quite a few. Off the top of my head there's The Drive, Michael Jordan single handedly beating them, the bobbling that led to extra innings and the eventual loss of the World Series, the fact that the Indians were serious contenders in 1994 and the strike put the end to that. So in a way I feel sorry for them because this was yet another chance for them to get close that they've blown. but then I remember all the scarlet and gray at the last Indians game I went to and that sympathy goes away.
I refuse to feel sorry for them. The VAST VAST majority of Cleveland sports fans are also Buckeye fans.
They have plenty of championships and have enjoyed more than their fair share of sporting event joy over the last 10 years.
ahem.

the correct response? "who are a few michigan fans from Ohio?"
these were just the ones i could come up w/ off the top of my head.
i'm not saying, i'm just saying.
Nice list. Of course there are exceptions, but it is a insignificant sample size when compared to to millions of buckeye loyalists.
You live in Ohio.
What percentage of your neighbors are Michigan fans?
What percentage of your neighbors are TUoOS fans?

Your forgot Bigasshammm!
Michigan is hated here yes but I still like the Browns. Columbus can burn off the planet for all I care.
I saw a guy at the golf course yesterday with a Michigan golf bag that looked identical to mine but he had an awesome Michigan football player headcover. All I have is standard headcovers with Michigan on them. I'll have to look for that one.
my apologies to BAH.
Andy,
probably 99% of my neighbors are tosu fans.
i understand your point that the over welming majority of Cavs fans who are also college football fans are tosu fans, and therefore this hurts them "more". however, i have to respectfully disagree w/ your whole premise.
after 20 years of living in Columbus, i may have developed a heightened sense of compartmentalizing my fandom, but i've always disagreed w/ tosu fans who made the same kind of blanket assumptions.
i hate the red wings (now). i hate the red wings because i'm a 10 year season ticket holder to the Jackets, and the red wings always crush us. however, when i listen to tosu fans talk about how they hate the wings because they happen to be in Michigan, i always think they sound pretty stupid. if the team that beat us all the time were in Chicago or Buffalo, would it make a difference? not as an NHL hockey fan, it wouldn't.
i also follow the browns. it doesn't matter to me what college a player attended. it doesn't matter what college the fan next to me roots for on Saturday. browns fans are browns fans, and the opposing team being from some place near a college that michigan plays really has no weight- i'm rooting against them because they're playing the browns, not because they're located near some college.
if you are following the Lions, do you hate the guy next to you because he went to MooSU? i guess i wouldn't.
likewise, i'm a long time Reds fan. when Sabo, Larkin, & others were winning a world series for the Reds, it didn't matter to me that many Reds fans were also tosu fans (though not as many as you might think, Cinci is very different from the rest of Ohio). and i don't think it mattered much to many Reds fans that the "Michigan infield" was from Michigan.
so, i'm not real in tune w/ lumping everyone in Ohio (or Michigan) in the same boat. i see pro allegiances as being distinct from where you went to college. so, enjoy all the suffering buckeye/cavs fans suffering (and the bonus of dufus Gilbert/MooSU alum suffering too). i guess that makes me (and BAH) collateral damage?
