The Athletic Department has done a great job in getting these videos made and sharing them. Such a dramatic difference between to old regime and this one when it comes to marketing. Let's hope there are some Penn State highlights in the version they will release in a couple of weeks. Compared to last year, I am feeling a lot more comfortable with the upcoming game against the Nits.
Edit:: I had to send it to another source because I could not figure out a way to stop the video from launching when the page loaded.
Some thoughts on yesterday:
- A win is a win is a win. As I have stated before, I stopped worrying about style points after we lost the Appy State in 2007. Any week that Michigan wins, Ohio State and Notre Dame lose -- is good with me. Sparty beating Northwestern was the only thing that prevented me from having a perfect day.
- Anyone that complains "this game should never have taken place" needs to stop. I have witnessed many 60+ point games against Big Ten teams in the years past. Delaware State wanted this game so badly they took a forfeit to make it happen. If we only win one more game this year, you will be glad this one was scheduled when you are making your bowl game party plans.
- It was great to see so many kids get a chance to play and fulfill their dreams of playing football for Michigan yesterday. I hope we did not burn any redshirts of kids we would like to still have on the roster in 4 years.
- We rushed for 461 yards without our 1st and 2nd running backs playing a down. I don't care who you are playing, that is still pretty impressive. Vincent Smith is going to be "the man" next year.
- Tate playing for one series was a message to the media that he is still the starting QB -- and RR is not angry for what might have happened on the sidelines at Iowa. I wish Denard would have had more plays, but we just kept scoring so quickly it was not meant to be.
- The Michigan Student section needs to stop the "You Suck" at the end of Temptation. I don't know how to organize and influence 25,000 twenty year olds, but it is getting stale and obnoxious, at best. It adds nothing to the atmosphere of gameday. I would love to hear a decent counter position from someone that supports the "You Suck" schtick.

I thought that instead of chanting "you suck" for this game they should have been saying "thank you."
From the press conference it doesn't sound like any redshirts were burned so that's a good sign.
I would have liked to see Denard never run the ball and pass on every snap. He clearly needs help passing and his TDs were so easy it was ridiculous. He still managed to almost underthrow the one TD. I think instead of him taking the snap and immediately running into the line he should drop back and look like he's going to pass and then take off running. This would allow the receivers to run off the coverage men and either have the D line get caught in the backfield blitzing and/or leave Denard one on one with a safety or LBer. He needs more time for holes to develop. Right now they're basically using him as a running back and I don't see the point there when they have so many great ones. I see a D Rob reverse in the future and I bet we see both Tate and DR on the field at the same time for PSU.
Yeah, can't agree. First of all, hanging 60 on a Big Ten team isn't quite the same as throttling an over-matched FBS squad. I don't have a problem with the number of points, per se. The kids just play the games that are scheduled. My issue is with scheduling the game in the first place. It's just sad and shameful for both administrations.
And no, I won't be happy if we end up with just 6 wins and this is one of them. The bowl game will be a hollow victory.
Chalk it up to my elitist Michigan attitude, but a win's not a win. I want to play the best and beat the best. That's how I've always felt. App State didn't change that. If we're just happy with W's no matter who we have to play to get them, then we should just pack it up and move to East Lansing.
My two cents. Your mileage may vary.
Jim, you are entitled to your opinion. I respect your view and at one time shared your view. 3-9 last year shifted my perspective.
At this point of this season with this VERY young team, an easy game, regardless of the opponent was just what the doctor ordered.
I also hope there is more than just one win waiting for us out there, but after what Purdue did yesterday to the bucks -- I am not so sure.
I would rather the band not play temptation at all if the students keep the "you suck" chant. I had mentioned on a previous post that they have stopped announcing the starting lineups before the game and I think part of that might be due to the "who cares" chant the students used to do. It may, however, be due to the videos they now play that Andy mentioned in another post. Instead of "you suck" they should say "Go Blue". That would be much better but will never happen.
My three cents. (I guess my mileage does vary)
