College football season over ? Check. Super Bowl done ? Check. National Signing Day passed ? Check. Basketball season ? Yawn. Baseball season ? Well I could write about the Caribean World Series as it looks like the Tigers are going to win... except that would be the Venezuelan Tigres de Aragua who happened to win their 3rd straight game yesterday. MLB pitchers and catchers report to spring training in 9 days. Maybe I should just take a day off ?Today was going to be a slow day on the Michigan blog-o-sphere. Brian at MGoBlog had decided to take a vacation. But rather than let his readers talk amongst themselves and wonder when he will return, he decided to turn over the site to some guest posters. Seems like a pretty good idea given the deep pool of Michigan blogger talent available. Some fresh perspectives would be nice for a change. First up was our friends from the Determiner's Army of Correct Fandom. I will admit the piece was both humourous and clever despite my feelings about the author. The results.... well, let's just say my friend Billy does not agree with me and while this was predictable it has been a day of pure internet gold.
Note to self: It is not such a great idea to allow someone that has spent the last year insulting, belittling, and generally making enemies of people that read your blog become a featured guest writer on your blog.

so me, whets and ohio guy shouldn't hold our breath for that guest spot on Spawn?
Ah poking the bear. No one has an army of degenerates quite like the WLA. They will blindly go to the support of their leaders without ever stopping to wonder what they truly are supporting. Slow day indeed when the day after a major signing day in M history you post frivolous information on a nationally respected M blog. Well done to you sirs, or boys. Unless you're just trying to keep Brian from actual professional journalism. In which case Selah!
sorry guys,
i just dont get it. Im quite sure the wla guys like to have fun and joke around and like it or not brian likes their stuff. If i dont like something they are talking about i ignore them and do, you know, actuall football or teaching stuff. Some of them are a little more interested in attention then others. But truth be told i share their general message; enjoy being a fan, and quite getting so caught up in things that you cant control. Why the need to keep this up? Im quite sure they havent posted anything on your site, or about your site for some time. unless of course you like joking around with them, hell i threaten to beat one of them up every day im in there, and i think they enjoy that, or course untill the beat down.
This actually isn't bashing the WLA from what I can tell, its just discussing how awesome the reaction has been... which, in fact, it is.
I guess I can take credit for starting this up. But it doesn't seem like I am the only one with that sentiment. The thing is we don't go on their site and say anything (at least to my knowledge since I don't ever click on their site) but they always end up over here the second we post something they disagree with. They have bashed us on a personal level on their site wherein all Andy has done is create "Vlad The Determiner." That's weak sauce in my book.
It is kind of a slow day. I haven't commented lately on how OSU and Tressel pays it players, so here goes......I hope Tressel has enough cash on hand to pay his new recruits.
wv: srudoff (what are the odds?)
servpro...... like it never even happened

I appreciate your attempt to play "peace maker" here. I have no intention in starting a blog-slap-fight. The truth is there have been attacks over there on T9 or I almost every day since the helmet sticker explosion. The comments, handlejacks, and comics are funny unless you are the one getting the abuse.
I guess I don't get it either. I don't think my post said anything negative about the WLA. I was pointing out the MGo response to the funny post.
I took it as Andy wrote it. Whoda thunk there was that much horsepower at mgb.
phil
espn has us at #9 recruiting class and you guys at #10.
i guess we pay slightly better than Michigan right now
Andy,
i get made fun of over there everyday... its really funny for me, Dex gets made fun of all the time too. its really not a big deal.. in fact i think my car, my choice of music, and my spelling get made fun of more than just about anything. Seeing how they know where i live, what i do, and everything you can see im not that worried about, and in fact kind of enjoy it. like i said if they start annoying me i find other things to do, i think you should do the same if you dont like the direction that the comments go to.
but if i misenterpreted your post as a blast against the wla im sorry. I guess i just assumed it was..
So what's the going rate for a top shelf recruit these days? Trans Am? Or Corvette?
Gsims. I used to build racing engines when I lived in MI. I have something in my garage for your car. Stupid cheap too. Might be time for you to come to South Carolina for a visit.
what you got?
im only a couple hours away..
I got a 400 cube shev small block I put in a 73 elcamino. Im not going to finish the project and am selling for scrap. Thats about 150 bucks. I have 1300 in it. I've done an 85 IROC. It will walk the dog.
nice man,
if i didnt have an ls6 block and running low 12's already, and had any money to blow, id def. take a look at it, hold on to that cat though man... what have you done to it? im sure quite a bit, where did you build motors, i had some buddies over at roushe, and of course all my family is in the car bussiness. I have a cousin opening up a race engine shop in fl. this month
My day job was at NAPA. I did a lot of sat night roundy car stuff.
Did build a bush and arca engine too. This engine is stock. I was going to pull a horse trailer with it. I thought you had a stock fuel injection system I can make it work on the small block. 400 + on pump gas.

No harm -- No foul. My post was 100% making light of the idiot storm raging at MGoblog today. I have apologized via email directly to dex if he took it any other way. I have no interest in starting another raging battle with the WLA.
Personally I can take any slashing they want to deliver over there. I spent 6 years in the Marine Corps and I have heard (and seen) a lot worse. My real heartburn is with the unchecked verbal attacks on T9. What they say is just plain rude and she doesn't deserve it.
Also, I hope you don't seriously think I was making fun of your profession in my Tacopants post last week ? My son (who is a junior in high school) wants to be a hs football coach just like you. This goal has provided a great deal of direction for him. I am proud of his dream and want him to be successful.
Andy, here in SC a hs coach can make 100 a year. I don't do that as a 30 year auto tech. As we say in the south... You go boy!
Here in Texas -- they don't make that much, but the high school football coaches are just about the most important people in town.
I'm guessing that was a "no-no."

Part of RichRod's problem is that he's NOT giving recruits sports cars. He's still offering Tractors and Double Wides :(
You can take the coach out of West Virginia but you can't take the West Virginia out of the coach
