Kevin Grady's new number

Despite reports that Kevin Grady would wear #24 for the Michigan Wolverines in 2008, we have discovered that the former East Grand Rapids star could be sporting a new number... that is after he gets done running the stairs at Michigan Stadium 281,000 times and doing 2.81 million pushups.

For those of you that have been living under a rock, a vehicle driven by University of Michigan running back Kevin Grady was pulled over in Wyoming, Michigan last week. He was arrested for allegedly having a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.

According to the ticket issued to Grady, he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.281. Michigan's legal definition of drunk is 0.08.

District Judge Pablo Cortes found Grady was "unable to render an intelligent or knowing acknowledgment of the charges" and ordered Grady to appear for arraignment July 9. Grady remains free on bond.

ooc,
yes, our long national nightmare is over.

all the speculation seems to be that the U had a side agreement for the penalty to be paid (somehow) and that in the end it was simpler to just send the hilljacks a check than drag Martin & Coleman into depos.

your head coach is a hilljack - born and raised, then he married one. pretty sure the cheerleader and real estate agent he slept with were hill jacks too!

judge ruled that by end of day tuesday, said hilljack must admit whether UM agreed to pay his bill or not. by end of day tuesday he decided to settle. i feel bad that he has to adhere to the terms of the contract that he willfully signed...

guess he can get back to family values now

Simple enough sru- a) half of the crowd on lane ave any given saturday is from southern ohio (zanesville, jackson, logan & pts souths) & has a drawl worse than R2's; and b) I was born in huntington & raised in Lawrence County- when I call mom & dad & the rest of my nascar loving/PBR drinking family "hilljacks", it's not the same as when you do. Sorry, but thems the rules as apply to ethnic slurs.

you weren't referring to mom & dad and your family when you said "send the hilljacks a check"

you were referring to the people that spend their lottery winnings on a "new bass boat parked in front of the double wide"

hillbilly slurs from an osu fan? hey pot, it's kettle, you're black.

Not one comment on Grady huh?
As I just read before posting this that he plead not guilty and I'm thinking WTF? After being on the receiving end of a .103 in Ohio (back when the limit was .100) I can tell you that Grady being at .281 is lucky to be alive. Seriously .281 is like not being able to walk drunk. How the hell did he manage to get behind a wheel and get pointed in the right direction. That is a staggering amount of alcohol and he's lucky he didn't end up in the hospital having his stomach pumped. I don't see him playing this year or even being out of jail. A judge is going to ream his asshole after a not guilty plea and hit him with pretty steep fines and jail time.

Kevin Grady in court on July 9, 2008

WYOMING, Mich (WOOD) - Kevin Grady, the former East Grand Rapids High School star running back and currently a member of the U-M Wolverines, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving while impaired.
Grady, who didn't play much for the Wolverines this past season due to injuries, was arrested Wednesday, July 2.

At the time he was pulled over, a portable breath test showed he had a blood alcohol level of .281, about 3.5 times over the legal limit.

The results of a blood test taken that night are still pending.

Grady's next court date if for jury selection on August 14. He said he wants to have this all wrapped up before he heads back to school.
