Hooiser news

On September 26th Michigan opens the Big Ten Season with Indiana making the trip to Ann Arbor. According to IU Coach Bill Lynch, the Hoosiers will do it without the services of their most dangerous weapon.

Indiana announced yesterday that senior football player Kellen Lewis has been dismissed from the IU football team for violating team rules. In the statement released through IU media relations "We are disappointed to have to make this decision, When you have expectations of those on your team that are not met, you need to do what is ultimately in the overall best interest of your program.

In three years as Indiana’s quarterback, Lewis produced 48 passing touchdowns, over 6,000 passing yards he also ran for 17 touchdowns and over 1,600 yards. He was set to play wide reciever this season, but you just know that he would have been taking snaps at QB when they played Michigan.

That's a shame. I'll scout them up when they play Akron U the second week of the season. I'm hoping Akron can pull off the upset? if it would even be an upset seeing as how Indiana's team has played the last few season.

I am perfectly happy to have Indiana come here without him. We need as many breaks as we can to get to 6 wins.

It never ceases to amaze me that so many of these very talented players throw their future in the trash and many times for a gangsta lifestyle. Hey Kellen, how's Michael Vick's career working out?

Just because someone is gifted athletically doesn't mean they are gifted intellectually. The sad thing about this country is that a lot of the highly gifted athletes come from poor "ghetto" neighborhoods because the only thing they had to do growing up was either sports or gangs and sometimes both. Look at Lebron he grew up in a shithole and played basketball apparently 20 hours a day and look at him now. I try to avoid his old neighborhood all the time.

i saw Lewis play as a frosh in M's last game against IU in 2006. though our D had a big day, you could tell the kid had a lot of talent and was going to be a player.

specifically remember talking on the way out of the stadium about how it was good we didn't play them the next two seasons and hoping he'd be gone by the time they came back on the schedule.
