Yes, it is finally here. I am going to watch in a quiet place and try not to type anything until Sunday. Defense will need to come up big. I will fix the count down clock later. Talk amongst yourselves for now.
i have utah coming out wearing South Florida unies. RRod curls up in the fetal position upon seeing this (reflex) and they have to turn to Fred Jackson to call plays. After Jackson calls 5 straight plays asking McGuffie to jump over someone, they frantically reach Mike Debord on his cell. Debord coaches the rest of the game. McGuffie, Shaw and Brown take turns running dives to the left, putting up a respectable 1.3 YPC.
Utah wins 28-2 BUT the Wolverines were in tip top shape the whole game and the players carry Barwis off the field on their shoulders.
My Michigan Flag is hanging proudly in my sliding glass door, my pom poms are ready to go and very soon I will be making the trek to the Big House, I am hoping to get there early enough to watch the band march the team into the tunnel. I am beside myself with excitement!! I am with T9, no expectations, I can't wait to see how the team looks. Vegas has Michigan winning by 3.5 points.......we shall see!!
Beannie Wells being hurt makes me smile. It's like preseason NFL if you're going to be dumb enough to play them then deal with the consequences when they get hurt. Almost broke my tv and tore apart my living room today since up until 3:05pm they had local coverage of some funeral ceremony for some OH senator who died that I had never heard of before. It was on every single channel broadcast out of Cleveland and it didn't look like they were going to end in time for the MI game at 3:30. All is now well in the world as College football countdown is on and it seems back to normal. LSU game was painful and didn't watch much of it. We got the BTN here in NE OH at about 11am so they just barely made it in time for the games. I was surprised Akron didn't look as bad as I expected. They were actually able to move the ball against WI and their defense wasn't bad. I've been going to Akron U games since I was a toddler. Never more than 4k people but has always been a good time. Anyway on beer 2 or 3 and have baby resting for her first MI game experience. Probably won't be on till late tonight or tomorrow or whenever Idk.
It's currently 25-10 Utah, UofM has -10 yards rushing.
Worst Wolverines team I've seen in my life! Spread offense does not fit personnel at all, defense has too much of bend but don't break attitude.
RRod showing real lack of coaching skill as players on both sides of ball seem VERY LOST.
Athletic Director made a serious error in bringing Rodriguez. RRod statement of knowing that Michigan had any tradition at all should have gotten him canned that day, and I knew when I heard that, that the team would be really bad.
Gotta fire him and rebuild the program, seriously, this is just not a good fit. You cannot compete for Big 10 & Nat'l championships with gimmick plays and style.
I'm mostly disappointed that they don't even attempt to run the ball and control the clock and don't have any sort of attitude.
This would be funny if I wasn't in such a bad mood. Yeah, it's a bad start, but firing Rod after one game is worse than a joke. The damn game isn't even over yet.
It looks like the transition is going to take a little longer than everyone hoped, but what did you expect?
I don't think this is the end of the world. I was hoping for better, but there were signs of life in the second half. The quarteback situation is obviously our bottleneck.
Anyone know why we saw so much more of MacGuffie and Shaw than Minor and Brown? Is it just R2 trying to put his kind of players into the system early as possible?
Nice that the D finally decided to show up for the second half. Thank God they put in Threet (why did they wait so long???) If the D had showed up for the first half and Threet had been in, we may have actually won. Definitely disappointing today, I was hoping for more, I hope that their butterflies are worked out and the rest of the season is better, or this is going to be ONE long season. *sigh*
I am in the smack dab middle of the student section, I am all for standing for the entire game, however I wasn't expecting that they stand ON the seats.......and the key play thing, actually sounds cool when you sit in the student section, every one of them get out their keys and jangle them, pretty funny really, but it does sound cool when you are in the middle of it all.
cleveland fans tend to revel in their opponents misery as much as we revel in our own triumphs. years of being disappointed by close calls, last minute shots, etc will do that to you. plus all the shit I had to take during the cooper years.
Sitting in the parking lot at Kyle Field in College Station. Watching Texas A&M fans try to make sense of losing to Arkansas State. I just shake my head and say that I belive in a place called HOPE.
It sucks to lose, but low expectations are better than bitter disappointment
the only "positive" I got out today's game is that I watched both the Big Brother and Little Brother games at a "little brother's" house---him and his wife were gracious during both games...the banter was fun, unlike hanging out with bucknut fans...
we both agreed that 0-1 big brother has better hopes for the fall than 0-1 little brother....but it is a long season...
But whets, you're not a "real" buckeye. That you would suggest watching a game with Michigan fans AND have a good time? That's something a real tosu fan would never think of, let alone suggest :)

616 wounded me as one shooting blindly into a fourth of July sky, but Sic, you walked over to my suppine mortality and stomped on the gaping arterial wound.

It's getting dark and I'm so cold. Mother! Mother is that you...?
well two things I gathered from watching "the horror" year 2. 1) Nick Sheridan is terrible. I thought he was supposed to be more mobile and make better decisions. Sure we all knew he couldn't throw the ball worth a damn but his legs were supposed to make up for that. I saw him get ran down by 340lb defensive lineman. And his throws were not even close. 2) The defense is also terrible. I know we were expecting the line to be somewhat mediocre and the Lbers were supposed to be suspect (Ezeh was awesome as it turned out) but the one solid point coming in was the secondary. Hellen Keller could have thrown for 300 yards against that secondary. Nevcer did I see anyone in tight on a receiver unless it was on the goaline and that's only because of a short field. Every pass play the guy was completely wide open and there was never any pressure on the QB. Where was all the sack happy defensive schemes we've heard about?
Upon reflection had Threet started and played the entire game maybe, maybe they win. Threet is far superior passer and with this style of spread (passing every single play) there's no reason he shouldn't be in there. Mcguffie is far too small to line up at a tradition tailback position. He looked like a kid lost on the wrong football field.
Dick your comments of fire RR are completely out of wack. It was one game. We knew it was going to be bad and it was exactly what we expected. The thing that was a shock was the defense and that's really not RR's forte. Utah is a hell of a good team and they did actually almost pull out a win playing like absolute shit. That should say something at least. The real test will be next week against a wholly mediocre Miami of OH team. If they do not win by 30 against them then we are in for some real trouble this season.
Big, The D looked much better the second half. It is painful, no doubt and it gave me little hope that we will keep our bowl streak alive this year, Unless they exponentially improve with each game it really is going to be a painful season.
Watching the Cal vs MSU game, the announcers said how MSU was glued to the TV in their hotel room, savoring watching Michigan lose (MSU thinks this is their year to beat Michigan, hell it is everyone's best chance to do that at this point) I am dreading hearing the shit talk though, particularly ND, MSU, and UOS.

Least. impressive. touchdown. ever.
...but I'll take it.
Well, offense and defence look a little shaky to start, but special teams look great.
officials looking awesome for michigan today so far!
I am LOVING Nick Sheridan
he could or should have had 5 picks thus far - not a smart decision maker
sucks that the only completion that stevie brown broke up all half was warren's interception too
ugh.
More chocolate milk!
Hold the chocolate milk. My word verification is a sign: rxtnak.
Translated: the team's prescription (rx) for success is a religious experience (tnak).
Halftime.
We suck on D. We suck on O.
Grrrr.
who says rrod isn't in tune with Michigan traditions??? he refused on camera interviews before and after halftime - way to honor coach carr!
Am I lost? I know I haven't been around for a while, but this is still a Michigan board, right?
It's currently 25-10 Utah, UofM has -10 yards rushing.

Sadly, sru has a pathetic life. W/out this he'd have nothing (cept free fries @ the end of the shift).
On the other hand, not much to be said to the contrary. While the poor offense isn't a total shock, the D is.
One bright note- if we didn't have R2, we'd have this same O running off tackle evry play-
Hope & change baby!

On the bright side, West Virginia is beating up on Villanova.
Hey,
Things are looking up. A little heart-stopping comeback action.
One nice thing about construction- west side had shade real early in the game!
Even if we don't make it all the way back, are we seeing a taste of that 4th quarter conditioning?
I don't think this is the end of the world. I was hoping for better, but there were signs of life in the second half. The quarteback situation is obviously our bottleneck.

i have a great life, this is just gravy. thanks though

That is all.....I need a shower!
Commenting live from Frasers tent- Utah fans (the ones who drink beer, at least), aren't a bad group to hang with.
Sru, if this is "gravy" ? You should see someone.
Honestly, get a hobby. I'm worried for you.

As a longtime Browns fan & recovering Lions fan (I get my 20 year pen next month), I get "bitter".
Just don't let your sense of humor drown in it, sru.

616,
I'm wounded. I'm shocked. I'm hurt. Owwwww.
I know if we hung out for any game a good time would be had by all.

I'm here, recovering...
Will start another post for the "post-mortem"
oh--and sru--
ya can't talk smack during a home game.....all you'll get are crickets. ;-)
