Ok-so you know that I've been pretty distracted by the Olympics. But I saw something today that has me baffled.
Women's softball will no longer be an Olympic sport next go around, mainly because of a "lack of competition". That's right, get rid of the sport because the USA keeps kicking everyone's ass.
As one of the players rightly pointed out, no one has asked Michael Phelps to 'ease up' ...... no, he is celebrated for his ass-kicking of the world.
But this isn't really about softball.
Nope, this is about trampoline.
The olympic sport of trampoline.......
Are you kidding????
Softball = SPORT
Trampoline?? = NOT a sport

That's all I've got to say about that.
When Team USA came to A2 for an exhibition against M Softball, Jennie Finch spent most of the entire game in the bullpen 'warming up'
The area around the fence was 4-5 people deep with girls, boys, and men all trying to get a gander at her.
She is REALLY tall, and so not ugly. What I found strange tho was the full face of make-up (including mascara) that she had on. She clearly was there to be seen.
Gives a whole new meaning to 'game face'
She's a star. That's what she are.

Ok, softball, rugby, la crosse, and football(American) are not Olympic sports but Trampoline, Ping Pong, Synchronized Diving, Synchronized Swimming, badminton, curling, and speed walking are?
By those criteria I'm waiting for bowling, minature golf, and ballroom dancing will eventually become Olympic sports.
Ping pong, WTF?
BTW, is it any coincidence that China won 13 golds, 4 silvers, and 7 bronzes in ping pong, trampoline, badminton, and synch. diving?
