It had to happen sometime...

17-46. No healing tonight. This loss was expected and delivered. The best part of this video is when Threet Cartman overthrows Tacopants Greg at the :16 mark. The rest is just plain painful, kinda like the second half today.

Plain and simple, until we get a QB that can play we are going to struggle.

Just think about how much fun it will be to win again, someday.

uh dude, this isn't just about getting a QB. The QB didn't give up 46 points. The QB didn't miss D assignments. The QB didn't screw up on special teams. The QB didn't cause the O line to play inconsistent (albeit the O line did play well first half and then disintegrated in the 2nd).

My friend, the problems with this team are much greater than just the QB. And to give credit where credit is due, Steve Threet has shown he is willing to lead and take risks.

jokester good points. I understand that there are plenty of areas to improve. But it is my opinion that is all starts with the offense. The QB is a HUGE part of that.

You have to get 1st downs to wear down the other teams defense. You have to give your own defense a chance. We did not do that in the 2nd half and the results showed it.

I think Threet did a hell of a job. Hell they were winning after the first half. No one on this board could honestly say they expected that at all. Defense wins championships and this defense couldn't win a high school game. it is flat out awful and I think all of the coaches know it. I believe Schafer is just trying things because he knows the people he has are incapable of achieving anything he wants to do. There were so many missed tackles again it was disastrous. Once again the game was over the first snap Sheridan took. I don't care how banged up Threet is if he's physically able to play he needs to be out there on every snap. I'm sorry if the poor kid is going to take a beating and that's not initially what he signed up for when he transfered to MI but so beit. He is proving to be a decent leader and I think he will be a good option next year to give the new QBs time to grow.

Just because we expected the beating, does not mean we don't deserve some healing. Pretty please?

Agree completely with the defense comments, the missed tackles are horrible. Kind of agree with the QB comments as well. Speilman made a great point about the low throw to (Matthews?). if he puts that out it front of the receiver, he runs for long time. Penn State played like crap. The lack of offense and defense did us in. Granted Sheridan is awful, but he didn't do that much worse than Threet did after the 2nd quarter.

so I meant that we were Wendy in the first half....

but yes, we are getting a karmic kindergarden ass-whooping this season.

sigh

oh--and I completely agree with all regarding the porous defense.

I am not down on the kids, I think they are working with all that they have and playing with real heart. I have been the first to say "give the coaches a chance before we call for heads". Not that I am calling for heads (not at all), however, in watching the game, I became very concerned that this is a coaching problem. I understand that we have limited plays that this team can play, however there was a definitive foreboding that came over me that gave me pause to wonder, is this rebuilding, or is it our future? I hope the feeling goes away, I want to have hope that we will be good once again.
