I had planned on a nice warm and fuzzy artistic Wallpaper Wednesday post today, but the improbable events of last Saturday ruined my plans.Instead, I had to put together something to commemorate the 500th game and the largest comeback in Michigan Stadium history. Oh well, there will be more other wednesdays.
Go Blue !!!

Very nice again.
The "I Surrender" symbolism may not be the message desired.
That's not surrender....
That's the International Sign for Touchdown....
Geeze....
It could also be reminiscent of that scene from Platoon where Elias is running towards the helicopter.
Mikoyan,
Human conflict precedes football. Surrender trumps.
Arrrgggghhh...why did you remind me of that scene? That part just broke my heart.
"Elias was a water walker"
On a side note how's come we aren't involved in the Blogpoll? We could have a weekly thread vote or something and compile all our suggestions as our poll. Might be fun for our little community.
Good question Hamm...
Both T9 and I agreed that the blogpoll was a bit too much for us to take on at the start of the season.
We both still have real jobs and do this for fun. Maybe next year.
You could make an open blogpoll thread after Saturday's games and make a compilation of our votes. But that's fine too.
Apparently that scene was supposed to have little blood packets so that it would look like he is getting shot. The blood packets malfunctioned but Oliver Stone still liked how the scene turned out so he didn't re-shoot it.
That is one of my favorite scenes in the movie and when the book explains why it happened, it makes that scene even sadder.
Enlighten me!
I thought it happened because Barnes was worried Elias would rat him out for shooting that woman in the village. Thus the Barnes shooting Elias and leaving him behind thing.
Don't make me read the book that - until now - I didn't even know existed.
Books are good!
Speaking of books while at our local thrift store picking up baby clothes (they have a huge almost never used section of baby clothes) I was looking at the books and picked up a hardcover copy of BO for 50cents.
The book is actually pretty good. Although it's been a long time since I read it. But I got the impression that Barnes and Elias were good and evil. Or Barnes represented the mechanized efficiency of the military and Elias represented the free spirit in all of us. There were two camps in the book, one that followed Barnes and one that followed Elias. Barnes didn't like what it was doing to the platoon so he thought he could get rid of the "problem".
Or something like that.
I just thinking that this is not a surrender but he was just making a "U" in front of the student block M. But then I had the thought that this is way to much like the tosu O-H-I-O thing so I am going to get back to work now and stop thinking about this so much.
