Last night, for the first time in my life, I had a real reason to chant "USA, USA, USA" at an international sporting event. It was great. Here is a shot I took of the start of the Team USA dogpile after they shocked the Puerto Ricans with 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth. With the win, we advance to the semi-finals of the World Baseball Classic.
For those of you that do not follow baseball, from left to right David Wright (NY Mets), Kevin Youkilis (Boston Red Sox), Derek Jeter (NY Yankees), Mike Schmidt (USA coach and Phillies hall of famer), and Shane Victorino (Philadelphia Phillies). To put this celebration into perspective, image a scene in which an Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, and LSU player all jump on to each other after winning a game.
Final game tonight for seeding in the final round. USA vs Venezuela.

Jeter is one of my favorite players. Youklis blows giant donkey dongs.
That is beauty of the WBC. Yankees and Red Sox fans cheer for the same outcome.
Funny story about Youkilis. Here in Miami they annouce everything in english and spanish. When he gets announced it sounds like this: "now batting, number 21, kevin jerk-i-lus." I laugh every time.
what a great win!
Barry Larkin coaching for USA too!
As a player, I like Youklis, but the fact that he plays for the Sux means I hate him.
