Game 2: Michigan vs. Oklahoma and the Zebras

Michigan showing the country what moxie is by going into the half just one point down to the Sooners. Blake Griffin, while a good player, strikes me as a complete ass. And, the extra player dressed in black and white seems to be helping him out as well.

Kissing your biceps after you beat up on a guy half your size??? Yeah--you're something special.

Blech.

You can tell a lot about a person by the way they act during a game and I am unimpressed with his "sportsmanship". Those CBS announcers need to wipe the jizz off their face too......

I didn't have any delusions about Michigan's chances tonight, but I at least would like to watch (and listen to) a game that is fun and exciting. The announcers are just ruining it for me. And 4 Michigan players with 3 fouls while only 1 Oky player has 3???? Really????

UGH

I hate the whole tournament. Every year it 60 some games have to be on one network? WTf?
Fuck that game though I just turned it off after Harris. fouled out on a charge where the defender's feet were never set for more than a half a second. What a bunch of shit. I expected them to lose but to have the game taken from them by the referees is ridiculous. I am superbly pissed off and just done with the entire tournament now.

last night CBS switched from the OSU/Siena game that had 40 seconds or so left to the Wisc/FSU game that was tied with less than 20 seconds left. UW attempted a buzzer beater....and then CBS switched back to OSU/Siena WHILE THE POTENTIAL GAME WINNING SHOT WAS STILL IN THE AIR.

I was wonder why they even switched in the first place

I agree BAH, I'm proud of the way this team has played, and like I said, I didn't think that we COULD'VE win given our lack of size and their athletic advantage.

But Tim Brando should be embarrassed. "Let the coronation begin! Oklahoma is headed to the Sweet 16!" WHAT??? HUH??? the only coronation going on is the 'corona' that was given to Blake Griffin by those CBS guys.

I used to be so fired up (in a good way) by this tourney but I swear CBS has ruined it for me.
Remember to check out the Women's Tourney. It is still pure in a lot of ways---fundamental basketball, good stories, exciting games.

I blame deregulation for this TV coverage mess.
CBS now has the monopoly on all games therefore they can do whatever they want. It's like banks being insurance companies and credit houses....ya shouldn't cross the streams!
If ESPN had some of the games we could flip channels and watch what was regionally relevant.
You shouldn't have to subscribe to DirectTV to be able to see the games.

monopoly.
unamerican!!!! ;-)

I had to leave the hotel room to catch any of the M game at a bar here in Florida. There was a couple of Michigan fans, and we all agreed this team exceeded expectations.

The game was over when Manny got called for his 4th foul with 6:29 left. It was a questionable charging call. Griffin did much worse the next time down the floor, and got no whistle.

On a positive not, Michigan wrestler Steve Luke just won the 174 pound (read: bad ass mutherfockers) National Championship !!

HAIL !!!!!!!

Michigan melts down in the 3rd period against Notre Dame. Down 4-2 with about 10 minutes left.

Grrrrr

Mgoblog sums it up sum with his post about his favorite part being the foul on a "box out." that was what really got me started as I played basketball growing up and rebounding was one of the things I was truly good at. I was awesome at shoving my ass around and launching another player out of the box to secure the rebound. Which is exactly what was done to BlakemessiahGriffin and a foul was called. I think that was the point at which I started shouting obscenities and really gave up on the game. That and the call on CJ Lee on the loose ball that Griffin had 0 control of and their bodies collided but naturally it was a call on MI. I may have missed the 4th foul on Harris being the a fictional charge as well as I thought when I turned it off that it was Manny's 5th foul for the charge that was such bullshit the defender was blurry on my non 120hz HD tv. What a load of horseshit this officiating was.

well as sic says, everything happens for a reason - you guys must have gotten an unfair share of calls in an earlier game this season or a prior year's tournament, right?

I hate that CBS is bouncing between games without so much as a warning that they are going to bounce over to another game. And it seems like they do it at the oddest times (like not during a timeout). You know if a game is that critical, maybe they could like...oh...I don't know...TIVO it....I know shocking in this day and age.

Anyways, sort reminds me of MTV's coverage of Live 8 a few years ago as the two jackasses covering it talk over the David Gilmour solo on Comfortably Numb. And here is the quote, "We're watching history here..."....Jackasses.
